Job DescriptionWho we are looking for

Bose is seeking a DSP Engineering Manager to lead the On-The-Go (OTG) DSP team within Consumer Audio Engineering. This team delivers DSP capabilities for wearables and portable audio products and plays a central role in both consumer product development and the evolution of Bose's audio technology platform.

This role emphasizes organizational and technical leadership, delivery accountability, and thoughtful influence. The OTG DSP team is experienced and highly capable. The manager's impact comes from shaping direction, setting clear priorities, enabling execution, and guiding how the team operates as Bose actively evolves from a product-centric model to a more platform oriented approach increasing reuse, scalability, and development efficiency.

While the position sits within the Premium Consumer Business Unit, the team also serves as a center of excellence for audio engineering, contributing reusable systems, infrastructure, and practices that scale across products and business units. On-site presence in Framingham is essential to support close collaboration, leadership effectiveness, and delivery success.

What you will be responsible for

Technical, Organizational, and Delivery Leadership

  • Accountable for technical direction and architectural judgments for DSP systems to deliver OTG wearables and portable audio.
  • Own DSP delivery commitments for Consumer BU development programs, balancing quality, scope, and execution tradeoffs.
  • Influence the evolution of DSP infrastructure, frameworks, and toolchains used across OTG products with emphasis on reuse, scalability, and long term sustainability.
  • Act as a thought leader and partner as Bose transitions toward a platform based operating model led by the Bose Audio Lab.
  • Represent the OTG DSP team as part of an enterprise-wide audio technology center of excellence.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Product Management to influence and plan technology development priorities aligned to product and business needs.
  • Build a strong, tightly coupled working relationship with embedded firmware teams to enable shared ownership of system level architecture and delivery.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering, research, user experience, and peer engineering leaders to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Advocate effectively for DSP priorities and tradeoffs across disciplines and organizations.

People Leadership and Team Enablement

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of experienced DSP engineers.
  • Manage day-to-day priorities, dependencies, and tradeoffs to keep the team focused on the most important work.
  • Provide cover for the team by removing obstacles, managing escalations, and absorbing organizational complexity to enable focus on core technical work.
  • Foster a culture of trust, accountability, and inclusion.
  • Support individual career development and long term professional progression through coaching, feedback, and technical leadership.
What we value

Education & preferred qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience in DSP, audio, or related domains.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing technical staff, with increasing scope and responsibility
  • Strong background in DSP engineering for consumer audio products, including technologies such as audio playback, noise cancellation or noise management, and voice pickup.
  • Demonstrated experience leading experienced technical teams through complex delivery, prioritization, and organizational change.
  • Systems-level thinking with the ability to evaluate technical, organizational, and schedule tradeoffs.
  • Proven ability to influence technical direction across disciplines and organizational boundaries.
  • Experience working with or alongside machine learning systems applied to audio or signal processing, including integration of ML-based approaches into production DSP systems.
  • Demonstrated interest in growing team capability in ML-based audio technologies over time, including hiring, development, and integration into existing workflows.
  • Clear, effective communication skills with engineers, cross-functional partners, and business leaders.
