Audio Post Production Remote information

What is audio post production in a remote work setting?

Audio post production is the process of editing, mixing, and mastering audio recordings after the initial recording session is complete. In a remote work setting, professionals use specialized software and cloud-based tools to collaborate with clients, producers, and other team members from different locations. Tasks may include cleaning up dialogue, adding sound effects, balancing audio levels, and finalizing soundtracks for film, TV, podcasts, or other media. Remote workflows often rely on file sharing platforms and real-time communication tools to ensure smooth project delivery.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an audio post production remote professional?

To thrive as an Audio Post Production Remote professional, you need expertise in audio editing, mixing, and sound design, often supported by a relevant degree or certification in audio engineering. Proficiency with digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, and familiarity with remote collaboration platforms are typically required. Attention to detail, time management, and strong communication skills help ensure seamless coordination with clients and creative teams. These competencies are crucial for delivering high-quality audio content efficiently while meeting project deadlines in a remote work environment.

What are the typical challenges faced by remote audio post production professionals, and how can they be managed?

Remote audio post production professionals often encounter challenges such as coordinating with geographically dispersed teams, maintaining high-quality audio standards without access to traditional studio environments, and managing large file transfers. To overcome these, clear communication using collaboration tools, investing in reliable home studio equipment, and utilizing secure, high-speed file sharing platforms are essential. Regular check-ins with project teams and establishing standardized workflows also help ensure consistency and timely delivery of projects.

Discover your purpose. Embrace innovation. Experience #LifeatRealChem.
Job Summary:
Real Chemistry is looking for a Producer to join our growing team!
21GRAMS, Real Chemistry's advertising agency, has done a lot in its first 5+ years. Known for our creativity, 21GRAMS has been ranked a top 3 most creative health agency in the world by Cannes Lions (with 100% regulated, real client work). We aren't creative-led, account-led or led by any specific department. It takes a team to do ambitious things, and our ambition is to help people connect with healthcare - by making advertising less of an interruption and more worth people's time because it actually gets them. As an agency with the full capabilities of Real Chemistry at our fingertips, we've got endless potential.
ROOM42, Real Chemistry's in-house production company, is seeking a seasoned Producer to lead, estimate, and execute projects in partnership with our Executive Producers and collaboratively work with our Creative and Account Management teams within our dynamic and innovative Agency. As a Producer, you will leverage your extensive experience in Agency Producing and Triple Bidding, utilizing your broad network of top-tier production companies for shoots and post-production. You are dedicated to upholding our mantra: 'Be hard on the work, but be good to each other'.
Join us at ROOM42 and take a leading role in shaping innovative and impactful projects in a supportive and creative environment.
This role can be remote within the United States or based in any of our U.S. office locations, including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Lambertville, NJ, San Francisco, or Carmel, IN.
What you'll do:
  • Collaborate with the Executive Producer to estimate and manage budgets for new project briefs, ranging from $1k to $1M, ensuring financial efficiency and creative excellence.
  • Oversee the full spectrum of production responsibilities, including the procurement of labor, equipment, locations, casting, permits, transportation, lodging, catering, scheduling, logistics planning, and media delivery.
  • Apply comprehensive Agency Producing skills, including Triple Bidding to ensure optimal value and quality for each project.
  • Maintain a robust list of production companies and post houses, ensuring the best resources are available for both pre-production and post-production phases.
  • Ensure seamless project continuation through post-production, coordinating with internal directors, editors/animators and audio engineers. Plus external post-production facilities as needed.
  • Deliver projects on time and within budget, meeting the highest creative standards.
  • Proactively identify and address potential challenges during pre-production and post in collaboration with the Executive Producer.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between project stakeholders and key crew members, facilitating clear communication and project alignment.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive project briefings to agency staff and crews prior to production days.
  • Oversee the collection and management of all necessary documentation for vendor billing and payments, working closely with our Business Affairs Team.
  • Attend shoots in-person as required, both domestically and potentially internationally, to ensure production integrity.

This position is a perfect fit for you if:
  • Our Company values, Best Together, Impact Obsessed, Excellence Expected, Evolve Always, and Accountability with an "I", genuinely resonate with how you work and lead.
  • You demonstrate the Real Chemistry Can mindset by approaching challenges with optimism, accountability, creativity, and a solutions-oriented attitude, always looking for ways to make a meaningful impact for our clients, colleagues, and communities.
  • You are adaptable, resilient, and comfortable adjusting your scope, responsibilities, and priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment. As our business grows and changes, so do we.
  • You are proactive, driven, and resourceful, with strong prioritization skills, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to leverage data to inform decisions and drive outcomes.
  • You are energized by innovation and the transformative potential of AI, actively exploring new technologies, identifying opportunities to work smarter, and championing practical, responsible AI adoption that drives meaningful business impact.

What you should have:
  • Extensive professional experience in the production industry, with a strong emphasis on Line & Agency Producing and Triple Bidding.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of video production equipment and technical specifications.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and negotiate effectively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Box, Frame.io, Highland Talent, and Workfront.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with SAG and Union productions is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • A proactive mindset with a keen sensitivity to time pressures and multiple deadlines.

Pay Range: $95,000-$100,000
The anticipated salary range for this position is listed above. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, and internal parity.
