Job description

Strategies Enrichment and Learning, SEAL (formerly LSP Inc.) is a nonprofit organization. We provide enrichment and therapeutic programs. Our programs are open to all, but especially benefit those with learning disabilities.

SEAL's S.A.T. Program is a part of our excellent SEAL Tutoring Services. Please join us and enjoy helping students score a high score on standardized tests. We provide tutors with free resources and SAT practice tests. This internship is excellent for education majors, graduate students in related fields, and retirees.

As a SEAL Tutor, you will:

    • Conduct and teach on-line tutoring sessions, one-on-one with student(s);
    • write up lesson plans and prepare materials (if applicable);
    • create your own schedule with your student(s)-- most of our tutoring sessions occur on the weekends, or weekday late afternoons and evenings;
    • support students to solve problems with logic and critical thinking, and to help them understand How to take an SAT test; and
    • complete professional trainings on lesson planning, classroom management, and on how to teach students on-line.

Requirements include:

    • You scored a 1300 or higher on the SATs (or an equivalent score on past SATs)
    • Must have a deep understanding of standardized tests, and How to take these specialized tests
    • Minimum 12-month commitment to the internship
    • Must be available 4-6 hours each week to tutor
    • Internet, a ZOOM account, working computer camera and audio

Recommended:

    • Hold a Bachelor's degree (not required, but recommended)
