Job description

Responsibilities and Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support and maintain approximately 10 conference rooms equipped with AV/VTC technology and equipment.
  • Perform daily room readiness checks to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Verify operation of displays, microphones, cameras, speakers, control panels, and Crestron systems.
  • Monitor room utilization and report equipment issues or maintenance needs to Tier 3.
  • Manage conference room scheduling through approved room reservation systems (e.g., Outlook, Exchange, Teams, or agency scheduling platforms).
  • Coordinate meeting setup requirements with end users prior to scheduled events.
  • Ensure rooms are prepared according to meeting specifications, including seating arrangements, presentation equipment, and video conferencing requirements.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and assist users with room reservations.
  • Provide Tier 1 support for AV systems, video conferencing platforms, and collaboration tools.
  • Assist users with:
  • Microsoft Teams meetings
  • VTC meeting set-up
  • Presentation setup and display connectivity
  • Audio and microphone troubleshooting
  • Camera and video conferencing support
  • Respond to service tickets and user requests within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Escalate unresolved technical issues to Tier 2 AV support or engineering teams.
  • Deliver professional and courteous customer service to government employees, contractors, and executive staff.
  • Provide basic user training on conference room technology and meeting platforms.
  • Communicate clearly regarding system outages, meeting impacts, and support resolutions.
  • Maintain documentation for conference room configurations and standard operating procedures.
  • Track recurring issues and recommend improvements to enhance meeting room reliability.
  • Prepare reports on room usage, support activities, and equipment performance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in AV support, help desk support, or conference room technology support.
  • Experience supporting video conferencing and collaboration platforms.
  • Experience working in a government, corporate, or enterprise environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Audio Visual systems and equipment
    • Video conferencing technologies
    • Microsoft Teams
    • Windows operating systems
    • Basic networking concepts
    • Outlook and Exchange calendar scheduling
  • Ability to troubleshoot common AV hardware and software issues.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Audio Visual Technology, or related field preferred.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Familiarity with AV control systems such as:
    • Crestron
    • Extron
    • Cisco
  • Experience supporting executive meetings and high-visibility events.
  • Understanding of ITIL service management principles.

Overview
We are seeking a Tier 1 Audio Visual Technician to join our team supporting the Space Development Agency. The Tier 1 Audio Visual (AV) Support Specialist provides first-line technical and set-up support for audiovisual systems, conference room technology, and meeting services within (SDA) Space Development government agency environment. This position is responsible for supporting approximately 10 conference rooms, ensuring meeting spaces are operational, scheduling conference room resources, coordinating meeting setups, and providing immediate troubleshooting assistance for users. The Technician will serves as the primary point of contact for routine AV support requests and escalates complex issues to senior AV engineers or IT support teams as needed.
