Job description

Summary: Our team is seeking a highly skilled management professional to lead our RF Services team. The RF Services Manager is responsible for the quality, accuracy, and execution of carrier network designs. This role provides full managerial oversight of the RAN lifecycle, ensuring that active equipment engineering seamlessly integrates with our in-building wireless and macro solutions, while coordinating workloads across stateside and offshore engineering teams.
Location: REMOTE (Must be based in Texas)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and coordinate the daily activities of RF Engineers and Field Technicians to ensure projects progress on schedule and meet strict client quality standards.
  • Drive the professional growth of the RF services team by implementing structured mentorship programs, conducting regular performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of continuous technical and leadership development among all subordinate engineers and technicians.
  • Oversee the development and validation of comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring accurate specification of carrier-owned assets including basebands, radios, routers, DC power plants, and batteries.
  • Collaborate closely with the DAS A&E Manager to ensure seamless physical and RF integration between the carrier headend equipment and the distributed antenna systems.
  • Review and validate site survey data specifically targeting space, power, cooling, and structural requirements for DAS equipment deployment.
  • Serve as the primary engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) for RAN architecture during scoping and review meetings with major wireless carriers (e.g., T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T).
  • Manage and balance design workloads across internal cross-functional teams and offshore design partners.
  • Support the Director in developing standardized Methods of Procedure (MOPs), training presentations, and quality assurance checklists for the RF engineering team.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in RF engineering, headend design, or telecommunications network architecture.
  • Deep technical understanding of carrier-owned assets, including baseband units, remote radio heads, DC power plants, and routing equipment.
  • Familiarity with major RAN original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as Ericsson, Nokia, and Samsung.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of 4G LTE and 5G NR technologies and their physical layer requirements.
  • Experience working in and leading multi-disciplinary or remote engineering teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent tasks and timelines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to manage complex client interactions.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • The employee is occasionally required to lift or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening that includes background and drug/alcohol testing.
  • Position requires working indoors in a professional office atmosphere.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel as required.
