Job description

Summary: Assist in the daily operations of the Central Operations department under the direct supervision of the Central Operations Manager within the guidance and

directives as determined by the Operations Administrator. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Answer incoming telephone calls.
  2. Interacts with co-workers and customers relative to areas of concern involving all bank related accounts.
  3. Process all exception items coordinating with branch management.
  4. Supports all Bank departments such as Compliance, IT, Courier, Branches, Accounting, Loan Servicing, etc.
  5. Print and mail daily notices.
  6. Process research requests.
  7. Complete Compliance assessments online per Bank regulations.
  8. Process ATM Settlement/Balancing.
  9. Special projects and all other duties as trained and assigned.

Organizational Relationships:

  • Daily contact with other branches and departments.

External Business Relationships:

  • Heavy daily telephone contact with customers, outside agencies, institutions and others.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Working: Must possess a thorough knowledge of all functions related to Central Operations. Position requires a strong comprehension of Bank policies, procedures and audit responsibilities.

Language: Must possess the ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, short correspondence and memos. Exhibit the ability to write simple correspondence.

Mathematical: Must possess the ability to apply mathematical concepts, add, subtract, multiply and divide. Demonstrate the capacity for completing tasks requiring a high level of attention to detail.

Reasoning: Apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and verbal instructions. Possess the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Able to understand and follow established Bank policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and adequately train others in the compliance process.

Interpersonal: Possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with supervisors and co-workers. Demonstrate high degree of customer service skills to include the use of tact and diplomacy in daily interaction with internal and external customers.

Computer: Working knowledge of personal computers and bank operating systems to include new account and informational support programs e.g. Jack Henry, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet Explorer. Operating knowledge with photocopiers, fax machines, postage meters, and adding machines.

Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of (6) six months banking experience relating to the position of Deposit Support Specialist I.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to walk long distances

Need to be able to stand for long periods of time

Requires the need to sit for extensive periods of time

Requires mental alertness

Able to speak clearly and concisely during internal and external meetings

Requires keen vision for long periods of time due to reading, writing and close work on computer screens

Must be able to frequently lift 25 pounds or more
