Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Client Experience & Relationship Support:

  • Create a WOW experience by greeting and acknowledging clients warmly and promptly, directing them to proper branch personnel or department.
  • Assist clients in person or on the telephone with questions or concerns, and if needed direct them to the appropriate branch personnel or department.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of all SmartBank products and services.
  • Always maintain client confidentiality.

Operational & Transactional Duties:

  • Assist in the opening/closing procedures of the branch to accommodate dual control.
  • Process deposit/withdrawal transactions facilitate sale of cashier's checks and other inventory items with accuracy following proper Bank policies and procedures.
  • Process payments for SmartBank loans, local utilities, and other services following proper guidelines and procedures.
  • Process client account maintenance requests (i.e., Change of address, stop payments, etc.) in a timely manner.
  • Assist with ATM balancing.
  • Protect SmartBank's financial interest by controlling and balancing assigned cash drawer and negotiable items received/disbursed. Maintains an acceptable balancing record per established standards.
  • Take responsibility for achieving objectives, and is accountable for his/her results, actions and decisions.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Adhere to SmartBank's established polices and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry related laws and regulations. This includes and is not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, and bank security policies and procedures.
  • Complete required paperwork when applicable to report any discrepancies or suspicious activity to the Assistant Financial Center Manager, Financial Center Manager or Security Officer.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

High school diploma required. Associates degree preferred. Minimum one year of banking experience preferred. Sales experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • One- year of banking experience preferred.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and sound judgment in decision-making using established guidelines.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of various Teller Drawer equipment (PODs, Recyclers, traditional cash drawer, etc.) preferred.
  • Proficient level of computer competency including Microsoft Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook), typing and ten-key proficient preferred.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and ability to function in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates ability to maintain a positive attitude.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Able to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Willing to accept new ideas and methods and be agreeable to change.

Work Conditions:

  • Able to routinely stand, sit, bend and stoop.
  • Occasionally lift or carry loads up to 40 pounds.
