Job description

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager/Sr. Consultant to guide complex strategic programs that support product innovation, portfolio growth, and operational improvement in Lansing, Michigan. This role works closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to turn business priorities into well-structured plans, measurable outcomes, and timely execution. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, sound judgment, and a disciplined approach to managing scope, resources, risk, and stakeholder expectations across multiple initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Direct major cross-functional initiatives from initial planning through completion, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and business outcomes remain on track.
• Collaborate with executives and department leaders to shape project goals, confirm priorities, define success measures, and establish realistic schedules and staffing needs.
• Develop and maintain consolidated project and portfolio plans using Microsoft Project and related tools to improve visibility, coordination, and resource planning.
• Manage budgets, timelines, and team capacity while identifying risks, dependencies, and constraints early and putting practical mitigation plans in place.
• Lead teams across engineering, product management, marketing, sales, supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and external partners to achieve program objectives.
• Facilitate alignment among stakeholders by supporting informed decisions, resolving competing priorities, and removing obstacles that affect delivery.
• Track performance through metrics and key indicators, then provide clear executive updates and recommendations to support strategic decisions.
• Oversee governance activities, stage-gate reviews, and project health evaluations to maintain compliance with business standards and organizational expectations.
• Ensure project records, workflows, and deliverables meet internal procedures, regulatory obligations, and recognized quality frameworks such as ISO 9001 where applicable.
• Drive continuous improvement by leading lessons learned, mentoring team members on project management practices, and strengthening templates, governance, and delivery methods.• Proven experience leading complex programs or portfolios involving product development, business improvement, or strategic transformation initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of project management disciplines, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
• Hands-on experience with Agile or Scrum practices and project management platforms such as Microsoft Project and Atlassian Jira.
• PMP certification or equivalent project management credential preferred.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
• Background working within manufacturing or automotive-related environments is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with product development processes and quality planning practices, including APQP, is highly desirable.
