Job description

Atlantic Health System is Seeking a Per Diem Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) 

Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare networks, is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) to join the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute, Cardiac Surgery Program at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center. This role is ideal for self-starters and will give an NP or PA the opportunity to be part of a growing and well-established group with a robust staff.

Atlantic Health System's Morristown Medical Center is the hub for the Atlantic Health System Heart Care program and offers a superior cardiac surgery program. The highest volume cardiac surgery program in New Jersey for over 15 years - our surgeons perform more than 1200 open heart procedures annually. U.S. News & World Report ranked Morristown Medical Center as a top hospital nationwide for cardiology & heart surgery.

Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) will be working in our 24 beds Critical Care unit and will be integral in the pre/post operative care of cardiac surgery patients in collaboration interdisciplinary team that includes Surgeons, Intensivists, NPs& PAs. The ideal candidate will have procedural based experience including but not limited to central line placements, a-line insertions, and will initiate appropriate interventions and orders appropriate diagnostic tests. Critical Care experience is preferred.

    Qualifications

    • Master's degree as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from an accredited program
    • NP or PA Certification and NJ License is required
    • DEA and CDS is required 
    • ACLS and BLS required
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of Critical Care or Cardiology experience
    • Must have excellent communication and computer skills
    • Strong work ethic and a team player who can work independently
