Job description

Essential Functions

• Welcome and assist patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner while providing outstanding customer service.

• Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and security alarms to detect suspicious activities.

• Monitor the Clinic Cooper-Atkins Temptrak refrigeration tracking systems to ensure all units are functioning as intended, in order to protect the medical product contained therein. If warranted, respond and take appropriate corrective action as defined by policy. This may include secure and stable transportation of the product to an alternate area and temperature-controlled environment.

• Conduct regular patrols of the clinic premises to identify security vulnerabilities and ensure safety protocols are followed.

• Control access to the facility by verifying identification and issuing visitor passes.

• Respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies, including medical incidents, security breaches, or fire alarms.

• Collaborate with healthcare staff and law enforcement during incident investigations or security incidents.

• Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations and record them in the department report writing system.

• Enforce Clinic policies and procedures related to safety and security.

• Provide excellent communication and problem-solving support in high-pressure situations.

• Stay up-to-date with training on security systems, regulations, and emergency response protocols, by way of departmental training and the Watson Clinic Center for Education.


Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Must be able to perform duties while bending, twisting and lifting.

• Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.

• Must be able to assist clinical staff with lifting/transporting patients.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications


Requirements:

Required Education:

• Certification in basic first aid and CPR are required and may be obtained within the first 90 days of employment by way of the Watson Clinic Center for Education.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (if operating hospital or clinic transport vehicles).

• High School Diploma of equivalent.


Additional Qualifications:

• Previous experience in security, preferably in a healthcare setting.

• Knowledge of security systems, access control, and emergency procedures.

• Excellent communication, observational, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.

• Strong attention to detail and integrity.

• Valid security Florida D License or certification as required by local regulations, (or obtain within 90 day by way of the Watson Clinic Center for Education), as well as a valid Florida Driver’s License and clean driving record.

• Must have reliable transportation.

• Must be willing to attend current and continuing education and periodic module classes applicable to security/hospitality policy and procedure in a medical clinic environment.
