The Campus Recruiter is responsible for network office campus recruitment and selection efforts. This role will execute office recruiting plans to reach selection process activity and intern contract and conversion goals. Critical competencies in this position include interpersonal savvy, priority setting, strong verbal and written communication skills, and drive for results.

This position is full-time, direct hire, located in Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities

Sourcing

  • Build and develop effective referral sources:
    • In-office: Current and formers interns, Financial Representatives, staff, and leaders.
    • On campus: COIs, professors, department heads, athletics, career services, and student organizations.
  • Actively participate in campus clubs and organizations to promote and brand Northwestern Mutual.
  • Coordinate advertising and marketing strategies on campus including the career services website, online job postings, and advertising to include ads, direct mail, community events, and other campus activities.
  • Develop relationships with other Northwestern Mutual recruiters to share leads and best practices.
  • Prepare and maintain recruiting and marketing materials.
  • Determine, schedule and coordinate on-campus recruiting activities.

Selection

  • Specific selection process accountability to include but not limited to screening candidates, conducting initial interviews, administering selection tools, and guiding candidates through the selection process.
  • Review resumes and schedule initial interviews.
  • Communicate effectively about information and language regarding all aspects of the financial representative career and each step of the selection process.

 

Accountability, Tracking & Analysis

  • Report weekly campus recruiting activity to the leadership team.
  • Develop proficiency and use of home office-supported software to maintain candidate databases and accurate records of prospects to ensure efficiency of the selection process.
  • Assist in the coordination of leadership team meetings and the preparation of activity/results reports.
  • Analyze recruiting ratios to identify inefficiencies in selection process; establish and implement improvements.
  • May include the oversight of contract and licensing responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years professional work experience preferably in sales, recruiting, or related field.
  • Experience in the financial services industry a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work professionally as a team member and with all levels of people.
  • Experience with prospecting; generating leads via telephone or face-to-face interactions preferred.
  • Strong network of personal/professional advocates and campus relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and applicant tracking systems (ATS) or recruiting platforms.

Compensation & Bonus Opportunity

Base salary: $45,000-$98,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Uncapped performance-based bonus opportunity.
