Position Summary
Base-2 Solutions is seeking a DevOps Engineer 4 to provide a reliable, highly available platform that orchestrates the microservices of a modernized operational system using cutting-edge technologies. This role supports infrastructure automation, platform operations, cloud services, CI/CD, and system reliability in a primarily on-site SCIF environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code and scripting to automate tasks, provision managed services, and build tools.
  • Patch, harden, and maintain compliance of RHEL systems.
  • Install, configure, and performance tune Kubernetes, Docker Compose, NiFi, and cloud-native logging and metrics collection tools.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines to automate building, testing, and deployment using GitLab runners and Argo CD.
  • Manage AWS cloud environments.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Perform work primarily on-site, with little to no work from home, and support operations in a SCIF.
Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph, with a CI Polygraph within the last 7 years.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • 12 years or more of professional experience, or 10 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.
  • Current Security+ CE certification.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and scripting.
  • Ability to work primarily on-site in a SCIF environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure including EC2, Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS, Event Router, Athena, and Step Functions using Terraform and auto scaling.
  • Understand AWS networking principles including VPCs, NATs, and IP Gateway.
  • Develop and manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and ensure system uptime.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, especially EKS, ECS, and/or Fargate.
Required Education and Experience Equivalency
  • Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience.
  • Master's Degree with 10 years of experience.
  • PhD with 10 years of experience.

Required Certifications
  • Security+ CE.
Required Security Clearance
  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph, with a CI Polygraph within the last 7 years.
