Description:

This position is within the Referrals Division.

Referral Specialist initiates a variety of external and internal referral processing and skilled clerical duties in support of the physician offices. Communicate with internal and external medical offices and insurance companies to ensure provider referral requests are processed timely and accurately. Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the mission and values of the Health System.

The job duties listed are essential functions of the position. However, other duties may be assigned, and may also be considered essential functions of the position. The caregiver must be sufficiently fluent in the English language to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. The degree of fluency required will vary depending upon the nature of the position. Caregivers are expected to honor the Mission, Values, Vision and Promise and adhere to the Code of Conduct, policies and standards of their organization.

Duties:

  • Referral processing.
  • Obtains insurance authorizations.
  • Scanning and faxing.
  • Preparing/maintaining records.
  • Responding to correspondence.
  • Ability to answer a multi-line phone system.
  • Adheres to established company compliance, policies, procedures and protocols.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:

  • MUST have EPIC experience.
  • Must have experience working in Work Queue's.
  • Must have at least one year of experience working in a Medical Office conducting insurance authorizations.
