Job description

Full Time - 30446

General Purpose:
The LVN Staff Nurse provides clinical support to healthcare providers and patients, ensuring quality care and efficient patient flow within the medical clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain/document vital signs, height, and weight.
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens according to established protocols.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and administer immunizations and medications as ordered.
  • Assist providers with clinical messages, pharmacy communications, patient education, and care plans.
  • Initiate and update care plans and Advanced Directives in the EHR according to PCMH protocols.
  • Interpret PPD skin tests and document results.
  • Maintain accurate and timely EHR documentation and daily worklists.
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical instruments and equipment.
  • Perform laboratory equipment control testing.
  • Prepare and stock exam rooms.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, CQI, and quality care activities.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and provide respectful, professional care.
  • Flexibility to work at other Ampla Health locations as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Valid California LVN or RN license required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • One year of acute care experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with primary care outpatient procedures preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient health information.
  • Knowledge of PCMH and healthcare clinic policies, procedures, and protocols preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and push up to 100 pounds on wheels.
  • Ability to remain on feet for the majority of the workday.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, stoop, twist, and turn.
  • Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to perform clinical duties.
  • May be exposed to Aerosol Transmitted Diseases (ATD) and Blood Borne Pathogens (BBP).
