Job Description

BME Fire Trucks is seeking an experienced Material Handler to be part of our Inventory Team. We are a locally owned Fire Truck manufacturer in Boise, Idaho. BME manufactures wildland fire apparatus used in the US and Canada for wildland fire suppression. Be a part of something that makes a difference in saving lives, homes, and our amazing recreational areas. As a Material Handler, you can expect to work long hours, so candidates should have exceptional organization, problem-solving skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills. As a Material Handler you will be responsible for:  


  • Organizing, cycle counting, transporting, and record keeping of fabricated parts and raw materials
  • Maintaining and updating inventory records through cycle counting.
  • Transport and record manufactured parts between BME facilities.
  • Operate company vehicles/trailers to pick up and deliver supplies.
  • Assist with chassis transfers between BME facilities.
  • Correctly stocking, issuing, and tracking equipment and supplies.
  • Organizing, cleaning, and improving back lot/yard areas.
  • Maintain and inspect forklifts, trucks, and trailers daily.



Requirements

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Safe operation of truck/trailer combos.
  • 3+ years of experience in inventory control procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Lift, bend, push/pull, climb stairs and stay on feet for the duration of a shift.
  • Work a minimum of 45 hours per week (M-F).
  • Forklift experience required.
  • Can-do attitude and ability to adapt to changing demands.
  • Ability to follow through on tasks and projects ATC (accurately, timely and completely).
  • Proficient computer skills
