iFLIP4

Job description

Company Description

iFLIP4 is the brand and network for people to care. We're creating the one home for everything related to nonprofits, doing good, and changing the world -- targeted at millennials who overwhelmingly want to do good but don't know how. They can come to the site and learn about causes with articles, videos and games; they can find a nonprofit they love; and they can support it all in one place. The first way they can do that is that for every iFLIP4 product purchased, iFLIP4 donates half of the profits to the charity of their choice.

Pre-launch, we have been featured in the New York Post, and we are also the recipients of the Brown University C.V. Starr Social Entrepreneurship Fellowship.

We have iFLIP4 Ambassadors (campus representatives) on 50+ college and high school campuses in the US, UK, and Canada, and iFLIP4.com has been visited in 140+ countries.

Some of our advisors include a former treasurer of IBM, a media expert who helped launch MTV, a Fulbright winning law professor, and a senior advertising executive in charge of $250 million of ad sales at Yahoo.

Job Description

We want to change the world. We're a team of fast-executing social entrepreneurs on a mission to build the future of social change. You want to change the world? This is your chance!

We are searching for an exceptional CTO to build our business with. We want someone who sees iFLIP4 in its Beta stages, and who can envision a future where it is the place to go for EVERYONE who cares. We want someone who wants to create the future, not someone who will settle for an unfulfilling position at a giant corporation.

We don't want a code monkey; we don't want someone to say yes and implement every feature we ask for. What we want is a partner. Someone to bounce ideas off of, someone with a vision for the future of our company, and someone who has the desire and drive to make it a reality.

You must be passionate about writing clean code, and you must pride yourself on working efficiently and cohesively with web designers and developers.

We want the best of the best. We've built a team of supremely talented and dedicated individuals, and we want our CTO to be the same.

Responsibilities

  1. Maintain the current Beta website

  2. Code the full version of iFLIP4's website, which has been expertly designed by a Web Designer with a Masters in HCI from Carnegie Mellon

  3. Once the full site is launched, work with the Web Design team to rapidly iterate and improve it

  4. Coordinate the members of our Technical team

Qualifications

Technical Requirements

  1. At least 1-2 years of web development experience, both building and maintaining websites

  2. Experience with:

    1. HTML, HTML5, CSS

    2. JavaScript, jQuery

    3. MySQL

    4. Linux

    5. PHP and Experience on MVC

  3. Skilled in frontend and backend development, as well as database (Apache) maintenance

Pluses

  1. ExpressionEngine Framework or Zend Framework

  2. CSS Foundation 3 Framework

  3. Isotope Framework

  4. CodeIgniter
Additional Information

This job requires a commitment of about 20 hours/week and comes with a small stipend. After we raise our Angel round of funding, this role can grow into a full-time position with a full salary and vested equity in iFLIP4, assuming the work you do is great! We are located in East Hanover, NJ, and telecommuting is fine with us.

Preference will be given to those who apply earliest.
