Wireless Assessment Technician – Contract | Tampa Bay Area

Location: Greater Tampa Bay Area (travel between multiple ambulatory sites required)

Duration: 12-week contract

Pay: $35/hr

Start Date: August 10, 2026

Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Wireless Assessment Technician to support a wireless readiness engagement at a major healthcare organization in the Greater Tampa Bay Area. This is a field-based role that requires someone who is comfortable walking large facilities and conducting detailed wireless site surveys across multiple ambulatory locations.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Conducting floor-by-floor wireless site surveys across multiple healthcare facilities
  • Performing active and passive wireless data collection using Ekahau Sidekick equipment
  • Capturing RF spectrum information and documenting interference sources
  • Executing coverage validation and throughput testing using iPerf3
  • Documenting access point locations, equipment inventories, and physical installation conditions
  • Assisting with heatmap generation and survey file management
  • Collaborating with client facilities and IT personnel during onsite engagements
  • Maintaining detailed field documentation and quality control standards

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of wireless networking, telecom, infrastructure, or field services experience
  • Working knowledge of RF fundamentals and wireless networking concepts
  • Experience with access point deployment in healthcare, enterprise, campus, or multi-building environments
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel between client locations and walk large facilities for extended periods

Nice to Have

  • Ekahau survey experience
  • CWNA certification or coursework
  • Experience supporting wireless deployments or Epic readiness projects

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
