Training Specialist


Location - Perrysburg, OH (Hybrid - Remote & On-site)


Sigma Technologies is looking for a Training Specialist to join our team. This role supports the development, coordination, delivery, and administration of employee training programs across the organization. This position is hybrid-remote and will be required to work onsite at times to provide in-person employee, team, and training support. Office hours are M-F 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern Time. There is a 2-week in-person paid training that all new hires are required to attend.


What You Can Expect to Do

As a Training Specialist, you will help support Sigma’s employee learning and development efforts by coordinating training programs, administering the Learning Management System, assisting with content development, and delivering training to employees and managers.


In this role, you can expect to:

  • Perform Learning Management System administration tasks, including setting up and maintaining courses, users, enrollments, time slots, learning paths, reports, catalog settings, and training records.
  • Perform regular LMS administrative tasks, including user support, troubleshooting, system updates, and maintenance.
  • Work with the LMS vendor to resolve system issues, enhance functionality, and deploy new features.
  • Create and deploy reporting, training surveys, and compliance surveys to track and measure participation in training programs.
  • Schedule training classes, including enrollments, locations, materials, equipment, logistics, and communication to attendees and stakeholders.
  • Support coordination of training activities for new hires after new hire orientation.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create course content tailored to Sigma’s internal audience.
  • Identify knowledge gaps through surveys, interviews, manager consultations, and employee feedback.
  • Draft and edit scripts, workbooks, presentations, job aids, and other learning materials as needed.
  • Produce print materials such as workbooks, job aids, and classroom materials.
  • Create job aids to assist on-the-job trainers and learners.
  • Contribute to the design of new training programs and enhancements to existing programs.
  • Assist in the development and creation of lesson plans, training aids, and learning resources.
  • Develop online course module content using e-learning authoring tools.
  • Load, configure, test, and maintain learning content.
  • Collect feedback from training attendees and use that feedback to support future improvements to content and delivery.
  • Deliver company training programs and workshops to employees and managers.
  • Conduct system training sessions for end-users, instructors, and other administrators as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

What We’re Looking For

  • We are looking for someone who is organized, collaborative, comfortable working with technology, and able to support both the administrative and instructional sides of employee training.
  • The ideal candidate will have:
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of experience developing and delivering training content.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with learning management systems.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in instructional design and adult learning theories.
  • Experience using content authoring tools to develop online training course modules.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • A professional demeanor with positive communication skills, strong teamwork, and the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Availability during the core work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday.
  • The ability to work onsite to provide in-person employee and team support as needed, with hybrid-remote work options available when business needs allow.
  • Dependable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and valid insurance.
  • The ability to pass a background check, drug test, and driving record check.
  • Computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to endure frequent, lengthy periods of sedentary work and sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must have the physical ability to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing notes, and viewing a computer terminal; these activities require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must have the physical ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, often in a group setting.
  • Must have the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Must reside within a reasonable daily commute of our Perrysburg, OH offices
