Position Description: The Program Manager role requires an individual with the ability to provide influential leadership across multiple projects to ensure customer expectations and contractual requirements are met. This role will contribute strategic input into product strategy and development, develop strong relationships with customers and industry partners, and will advise leadership on all relevant aspects of project(s) and project(s) level scope, schedule, resources, and overall ownership project(s) level financial performance. This position requires reporting to the Colorado Springs office with the ability to support a hybrid work environment and may involve travel.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary customer relationship manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Managing overall company relationships for defined scope(s) of work to ensure responsiveness to customer needs.
    • Lead customer meetings and reviews, tracking resulting action items to closure.
    • Develop materials for programmatic briefings and reviews.
    • Report contract or subcontract deliverables accurately and timely, using a variety of prime contractor systems and/or Government systems that may require additional training or education.
    • Coordinate with customer on execution of the contract or subcontract throughout its lifecycle.
  • Lead daily project execution of multiple projects to ensure project costs, schedule, and technical performance goals are met while meeting customer expectations and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication with subcontractors to ensure the performance, cost, and schedule of the subcontract is being met.
  • Work with Technical Leads to assign tasks to internal teams and assist with overall project schedule management.
  • Build relationships with both internal cross-functional and external teams providing leadership and guidance.
  • Lead the project staff by providing clear direction and maintaining accountability for the team's performance.
  • Provide concise reports to the leadership team on status, potential issues, risks, and recommended courses of action.
  • Review the financial picture of assigned projects and present accurate project forecasts.
  • Provide timely and accurate projections of engineering resource requirements, to include project technical staffing needs.
  • Comprehend complex project and staffing interdependencies and communicate clear and consistent priorities.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of a growth strategy for the portfolio through activities such as:
    • Actively identifying additional and expanded tasking with existing customers and defining new technical requirements for draft statements of work.
    • Providing significant elements to a re-compete capture strategy.
    • Developing new customer projects and conceptualizing solutions to customer problems that lead to new business for the company.
    • Identifying potential buying agents for growth beyond current customer.
    • Lead/support capturing opportunities, including bid and proposal development, pricing, and developing statements of work with operational insight gained on projects.
    • Lead change in a growing organization, seek out and document best practices and incorporate lessons learned into future project/programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We Require:

**Minimum Skills & Requirements**

  • Bachelor's degree, and minimum 10+ years of Program/Project Management experience with demonstrated ability to develop strong internal and external customer relationships, prioritize efforts and achieve results.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in working with or within a branch (Air Force, Army, Navy, etc.) of the Department of Defense as a Program/Project Manager.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government. Security clearances may only be granted to US citizens.
  • Ability to travel as needed to our DoD customers and other stakeholder facilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) to our DoD customers, prime contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Project and MS Office particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

**Demonstrated Qualifications/Skillsets**

  • In depth knowledge of program & project management processes, tools and procedures including ability to quickly learn and adapt to company's ERP system (Unanet) in reporting, analyzing, and managing project spend vs. budgets, and schedule performance
  • Solid leadership and management skills, particularly influence management and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent leadership and oral and written communication skills
  • Experience throughout the project life cycle from development through sustainment to include proposal development, requirements decomposition, generation of system and subsystem statements of work and subcontracts, risk management, and continuous improvement efforts including implementation for cost reduction and performance improvement efforts
  • Experience with metrics for assessing and reporting project progress, productivity, and variance analysis.
  • Excellent collaboration and working across organization skills to achieve top performance results
  • Self-starter and a problem solver; must have the ability to see the big picture and implement changes as required
  • Demonstrated success in managing staff planning, project reviews, scheduling, and budget control.
  • Successful track record in managing complex defense projects or programs as a prime or subcontractor.

What We Value:

  • B.S or M.S. Degree in a Technical Field (preferred Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline).
  • Program Management Professional (PMP®) or comparable certification.
  • Knowledgeable in FAR/DFAR/ITAR requirements.

Minimum Physical Requirements:

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods while performing computer-based and administrative tasks.
  • Ability to transition between sitting, standing, and walking as needed to complete job-related tasks in office and facility environments.
  • Ability and dexterity to grasp, handle, and manipulate small items such as, but not limited to, cellphones, laptops, USB drives, business cards, documents.
