Job Description:
Job Summary: The Reg EEG Technologist PRN assists with performing EEG tests to gather a patient's medical history, explain testing procedures and prepare the patient for the procedures. This position is also responsible for monitoring the patient's status and notes any abnormalities, after testing the technician is required to report findings to the patient's doctor for further analysis.
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:
  1. Performs electroencephalography testing and performs evoked potential testing.
  2. Performs ambulatory electroencephalography testing.
  3. Scans ambulatory tests for physician interpretation and downloading ambulatory PC cards to the computer system.
  4. Maintains, reviews and provides feedback for electroneurodiagnostic files for patient records.
  5. Compiles statistics for electroneurodiagnostic area.
  6. Assists with making appointments and providing pre-test consultation and records the patient's medical history.
  7. Maintains proper functioning equipment and adequate supplies to meet workload demand.
  8. Generates shift workload and delegates assignments.
  9. Job description is not an all-inclusive list of duties and may be subject to change with or without notice. Staff are expected to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Current JPS recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Graduate of an approved electroencephalography program.
  • Registered EEG Technologist by American Board Registered EEG Technologists.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in allied health field or related field.
