Hours: 7/Day 35/Week
Location: Opportunity Center of Ogden at James Madison
General Purpose
Responsible for providing primarily secretarial and/or clerical assistance, including computer data entry, typing, telephoning, filing, arranging appointments, preparing and checking reports, and preparing mailings. Responsible for calendaring and communication for the Opportunity Center of Ogden with the Executive Director and team, as well as keeping calendars, occupant lists, and schedules current to support administration.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Answer telephones, take messages, greet the general public and generally assist school secretaries.
  • Aid in the recording and notification of parents regarding attendance data, including detention and tracking programs.
  • Assist students when they come into the office due to injuries or not feeling well.
  • Operate office equipment.
  • Prepare notes and monthly newsletters for students to take home.
  • Update the school website with information from the principal regarding important upcoming dates and announcements.
  • Order supplies and Xerox materials as requested.
  • Clean and disinfect computers.
  • May contact repair technicians as needed.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • No experience required
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • The job occasionally requires light physical exertion including walking, standing, motor vehicle operation and other forms of light physical activity.
  • Work is carried out in an agreeable environment as generally represented by normal office conditions and little or no unpleasant elements.
