Healthcare Business Development Manager – Private Duty Home Care

Location: Fullerton, CA | Field-Based

CareBuilders at Home is a nationally respected private-duty home care organization helping seniors and adults remain safe, independent, and comfortable in their own homes. We are expanding throughout North Orange County and seeking an experienced Healthcare Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth.

Position Summary

The Healthcare Business Development Manager develops and executes a territory growth strategy focused on making sales and obtaining service agreements for the Company’s non-medical home care services. This role generates private-pay referrals, builds long-term referral partnerships, and consistently converts qualified opportunities into new client starts. As a field-based, outside sales exempt position, the role requires more than 50% of total working hours to be spent in the field engaging prospects, presenting solutions, and securing signed service contracts.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a strategic territory growth plan.

  • Build referral relationships with hospitals, health systems, SNFs, ALFs, ILFs, memory care, home health, hospice, physicians, concierge physicians, geriatricians, neurologists, geriatric care managers, elder law attorneys, fiduciaries, trust officers, financial advisors, Medicare Advantage plans, veterans organizations, and senior centers.

  • Conduct consultative meetings with families, assess care needs, present solutions, overcome objections, and close new home care agreements.

  • Represent CareBuilders at networking events, Lunch & Learns, health fairs, and community presentations.

  • Analyze market opportunities and competitor activity.

  • Maintain CRM documentation, forecasting, pipeline management, and referral tracking.

  • Coordinate smooth client onboarding with operations after the sale.

Performance Expectations
  • 50–60 referral visits per week

  • 10–12 face-to-face appointments per day

  • 2–3 presentations each month

  • 1–2 networking events monthly

  • Daily CRM updates

  • Weekly pipeline reviews

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of successful healthcare business development experience

  • Home care, home health, hospice, senior living, or post-acute experience preferred

  • Proven referral network development

  • Strong consultative selling, presentation, negotiation, and territory management skills

  • CRM proficiency

  • Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation

 Preferred:

  • Existing relationships with hospital case managers, discharge planners, SNFs, ALFs, physicians, home health, hospice, elder law attorneys, and geriatric care managers.

Compensation & Benefits
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $100,000 - $120,000+ Annually

    • Base salary: $65,000 - $75,000 (Based on candidate’s experience and skills)

    • Uncapped commissions (One-time commission for new home care clients and completed senior placements
