Registered Nurse (RN) – Unit Manager | Leadership Opportunity

Position Overview

The RN Unit Manager provides clinical leadership for an assigned nursing unit by overseeing resident care, supervising nursing staff, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, facility policies, and quality standards. This position partners closely with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary team to promote exceptional resident outcomes and a positive work environment.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop nursing staff on the assigned unit
  • Coordinate and oversee daily resident care operations
  • Promote excellence in resident care through quality assurance and infection prevention initiatives
  • Review and communicate physician orders accurately and promptly
  • Delegate nursing responsibilities appropriately while ensuring quality care
  • Conduct routine resident rounds and assess changes in resident condition
  • Ensure timely, accurate clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapy, pharmacy, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Support regulatory compliance and prepare for state and federal surveys
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
Qualifications Required
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team
  • Working knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
Preferred
  • Long-term care or skilled nursing experience
  • Experience caring for geriatric residents
  • Previous Unit Manager or Charge Nurse leadership experience
