About Our Family
We are a blended family with six children ranging from second grade to tenth grade. Our household operates with a shared custody schedule that varies throughout the week and changes between the school year and summer. The rhythm of our home shifts constantly: some days we have all six kids, others just three, and occasionally we have no children at home.
We value organization and efficiency. Our home has some established organizational systems in place, and we appreciate when those are maintained and improved upon. We are busy professionals who work hard to create a warm, functional home for our kids while juggling demanding careers. Our 15-year-old dog is a gentle and loving member of the family.
Our evenings revolve around soccer practices, extracurriculars, homework, and trying to make sure everyone gets fed dinner! In the summer, the kids enjoy time at home together-swimming, playing, and hanging out. Our family's schedule varies week to week which means flexibility is essential.
Who You Are
You are proactive, resourceful, and incredibly flexible. You thrive in an environment where no two days look the same and can manage your own time to accomplish weekly goals with limited direction. You see what needs to be done and take ownership of it. You are comfortable working independently and can focus on getting the job done. You read the room well and understand when to step in and when to step back. You're detail-oriented, calm, and outcome-focused, and you take pride in helping others offload their mental bandwidth. Most importantly, you can balance supporting the family without doing so much for the kids that they lose their own sense of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Family Support
  • Assist with transporting children from school and to various activities
  • Provide light supervision during summer months, including occasional organizing of activities and outings (go to a movie or a park)
  • Check that children have packed their necessary equipment for sports and activities

Meal Support
  • Manage weekly grocery shopping and ordering and put items away
  • Prepare healthy meals in large batches 3 times per week (proteins, grains/carbs, salads, fruits)
  • Follow approved recipes initially, then adapt based on preferences once familiar
  • Manage packing lunches during the school year; prepare lunches during summer
  • Clean/organize refrigerator during grocery restock
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization
  • Accommodate picky eaters with different preferences - component-style meals work best

  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies as needed
  • Manage household supply lists and subscription orders
  • Occasional returns, dry cleaning pickup, and gift shopping
  • Open and sort mail, maintain filing system, breakdown boxes from packages and flag important items

Laundry & Linens
  • Wash, fold, and put away towels on a regular rotation
  • Wash bedding after cleaners change sheets every other Thursday; change primary bedroom's bedding every other week (opposite from cleaners)
  • Fold and put away adult laundry in organized closet system
  • Steam clothing as needed
  • Supervise and ensure children fold and put away their own clothes

Household Organization & Maintenance
  • Complete daily resets: light tidying including dishes, surfaces, and high-traffic areas
  • Maintain and improve existing organizational systems
  • Seasonal clothing swaps for children (identify outgrown items and determine what is needed)
  • Christmas decor setup and takedown
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Replace batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, and filters
  • Clean and vacuum air purifiers on rotation
  • Occasional organizational projects such as photo organization, storage organization, or system improvements

  • Ensure family vehicle is washed and registration is current
