Maintenance Assistant Responsibilities
  • Perform routine building maintenance and preventative maintenance throughout the facility

  • Complete repairs involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance

  • Assist with the inspection, testing, and maintenance of Life Safety systems, including fire alarm, sprinkler, emergency lighting, and other regulatory compliance requirements

  • Help maintain compliance with Life Safety Code, OSHA, state, and federal regulations

  • Troubleshoot equipment and building systems to ensure safe operation

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders

  • Assist with inspections, repairs, and facility improvement projects

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant environment for residents, visitors, and staff

  • Follow all safety regulations and maintenance procedures

  • Support the Maintenance Director with daily operations and special projects

Maintenance Assistant Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Assistant, Maintenance Technician, or in building maintenance preferred

  • Experience with Life Safety systems and Life Safety Code compliance is required

  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general facility maintenance

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Basic computer skills preferred

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team

  • Experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, long-term care, or rehabilitation facility is strongly preferred

Schedule
  • Full-Time

  • Day Shift

  • Every Other Weekend Required on call

  • Participation in Emergency On-Call Rotation Required
