We're partnering with a well-established, award-winning consulting engineering firm seeking a Senior Associate – Mechanical Engineer to help lead and grow its Edmonton operations. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring teams, developing client relationships, and contributing to the strategic direction of a growing business while remaining involved in technically challenging projects.

This is more than a traditional engineering role - it's an opportunity to become a key member of the leadership team, influence business decisions, and position yourself for long-term growth toward Principal and ownership opportunities.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide technical leadership on a diverse portfolio of mechanical building systems projects.
  • Lead the design and delivery of HVAC, plumbing, hydronic, fire protection coordination, and mechanical building systems.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, developers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while supporting proposal preparation and presentations.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop junior and intermediate engineers and designers.
  • Oversee project delivery from concept through construction administration.
  • Review designs, calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings for quality assurance.
  • Collaborate closely with the firm's leadership team on strategic planning and continued growth of the Edmonton office.
  • Assist with resource planning, project staffing, budgeting, and financial performance.
  • Represent the firm within the local engineering community through networking and industry events.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
  • 10+ years of consulting engineering experience focused on building mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and projects.
  • Strong background designing HVAC, plumbing, hydronic, and mechanical building systems.
  • Experience managing projects from proposal through construction completion.
  • Proven business development experience with existing client relationships or a strong ability to develop new ones.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in contributing to the long-term growth of the business.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and client expectations.
