Job description

Position Overview:

The Assistant Chapter Manager supports the Chapter Manager in the administration and daily operations of the Nebraska Chapter of NECA. This position plays a key role in coordinating member services, supporting workforce development and educational initiatives, facilitating communication among members and industry stakeholders, and assisting with government affairs and advocacy efforts. The Assistant Chapter Manager helps advance the chapter's mission by promoting member engagement, supporting strategic initiatives, and ensuring the efficient execution of programs, events, and operational activities. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to serving the electrical contracting industry.

Key Responsibilities:

· Administrative Support:

Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Chapter Manager, including processing bank deposits, coordinating training schedules, managing correspondence, and maintaining accurate electronic records and filing systems.

· Negotiations:

Prepare research and pre-negotiation materials, including the organization and maintenance of negotiation binders, contracts, wage sheets, reference documents, and other supporting resources.

· Member Relations:

Foster positive relationships with members by addressing inquiries, providing information on membership benefits, and encouraging participation in events and programs.

· Contractor Education Coordination:

Planning and coordinating chapter training sessions and workshops, including managing logistics, promotional efforts, and follow-up activities.

· Collaboration with Educational Institutions:

Work closely with the OPS career center and the University of Nebraska- Lincoln to support workforce development initiatives, promote careers in the electrical contracting industry, and facilitate student engagement through educational programs, internships, and employment pathways.

· Government Affairs:

Assist the Chapter Manager in tracking legislative and regulatory developments affecting the electrical contracting industry. Support advocacy efforts through the preparation of informational materials, stakeholder communications, and legislative outreach activities.

· Communication:

Develop, coordinate, and distribute chapter communications, including newsletters, member updates, event promotions, and industry-related announcements to ensure timely and effective member engagement.

· Database Management:

Maintain the integrity of member and stakeholder databases by ensuring information is accurate, current, and properly managed to support chapter operations and communications.

· Education:

Collaborate with the Omaha Career Center to support and expand electrical training programs within Omaha Public Schools and partner with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln NE Student Chapter to promote industry awareness, career development, and student engagement.

· Committees:

Attend and Contribute to Heartland Workforce Solutions (monthly) & NCIC (monthly).

· Research and Development:

Conduct research on industry trends, workforce development opportunities, market conditions, and emerging issues to support chapter initiatives, advocacy efforts, and member education.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in association management, non-profit organizations, or the electrical contracting industry is a plus

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with database management systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
