Target Salary Range:ย  $73,117 - $91,397

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Product & UX Design

Lead the design lifecycle from conceptualization and discovery through to execution and launch acrossย  ย  ย ย  ย  iOS, Android, and responsive web.

Create user flows, wireframes, customer journey maps, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.

Contribute to and maintain our design system, ensuring consistency and seamless developer handoff.

Develop pixel-perfect design documentation and specifications for engineering teams.

Incorporate motion design and micro-interactions to enhance engagement and usability.

Translate complex system requirements into simple, elegant, and user-friendly interfaces.

Rapidly prototype concepts in Figma, from low-fidelity sketches to high-fidelity interactive prototypes.

Ensure all designs meet Alterna's brand standards and WCAG (AODA) accessibility guidelines.

User Research & Validation

Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including user interviews, observational studies, and competitive analysis.

Apply design thinking methodologies to iterate based on member feedback and data-driven findings.

Build and maintain journey maps, service blueprints, and user personas to keep the team aligned on member needs.

Collaboration & Strategy

Work closely with stakeholders to align on product vision and ensure design specifications are implemented accurately.

Collaborate with Engineering early and often to ensure technical feasibility and support post-launch refinements.

Facilitate design workshops, brainstorming sessions, and design critiques.

Present design rationale, research findings, and concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.

Process & Support

Own the end-to-end design process โ€” from ideation and prototyping to user testing and final delivery.

Document design processes and systems

Drive continuous improvement of design workflows, methodologies, and tools within the Digital Channels team.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education

University degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or a related field โ€” or equivalent working experience or certifications.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in Digital Product Design, UX/UI Design, or a related role within an agile environment.

Proven track record of launching innovative digital products.

A strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design, complex problem-solving, and impactful user experiences.

Experience in financial services or fintech is a strong plus.

Technical Skills

Expert proficiency in Figma (required).

Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and motion design tools is an asset.

Proficiency and experience with prototyping (required)
