Job description

Senior UX Designer

UX Designers at client are responsible for:

  • Overseeing/UI designs to ensure design decisions are grounded in user experience and adhere to agency-wide design standards and industry-wide best practices
  • Translating research into user stories, requirements, flows, wireframes, and prototypes and collaborating on the future product roadmap
  • Employing user testing and outreach to ensure products meets the needs of the end users, in collaboration with partners
  • Partnering with the product team and other key stakeholders, including senior leadership, on design solutions and rationales; collaborating with internal and external teams of product designers, developers, and product managers

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

8 years of:

  • Experience in software product development, digital design, UX/UI or a related field
  • Designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices
  • Experience conducting user and usability research

5 years of:

  • Demonstrated strong writing and organization skills
  • Demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills

4 years of:

  • Direct experience leading large-scale UX/UI efforts
  • Documented experience developing wireframes, mockups, and prototypes in Figma or comparable design software

3 years of:

  • Experience ensuring designs and websites conform to federal accessibility guidelines

1 year of:

  • A portfolio of user research, visual design, and usability studies that demonstrates a high level of professionalism

Preferred:

3 years of:

  • Documented work experience with the issue tracking software "Atlassian Jira"

2 years of:

  • Documented experience working for or closely with client or another state or local education agency
