Job description

About Us

At Prenuvo, we are on a mission to flip the paradigm from reactive "sick-care" to proactive health care. Our award-winning whole body scan is fast (under 1 hour), safe (MRI has no ionizing radiation), and non-invasive (no contrast). Our unique integrated stack of optimized hardware, software, and increasingly AI, coupled with the patient-centric experience across our domestic and global clinics, have allowed us to lead the change against "we caught it too late again".

We are hiring a Qualitative UX Researcher to stand up proactive discovery across the Prenuvo journey. You will own generative research into patient goals and decisions, and lead building a steady cadence and shared foundations so discovery is proactive and repeatable. You will not do that alone: Design already does clinic fieldwork, quantitative research owns measurement, and you will have partnership from Design, Product, and clinic stakeholders as you build the practice. Success looks like insight that changes what we build, not only polish after the fact.

This role does not provide visa sponsorship. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and must not require employer sponsorship for a work visa (current or future). Preference for candidates physically located near an existing Prenuvo clinic.

Help reshape the world through proactive healthcare while working with cutting-edge technology and high performing teams with deep expertise - join us to make a difference in people's lives!

What You'll Do:

Build discovery as a practice

  • Lead establishing a repeatable qualitative research cadence (intake, prioritization, study design, fieldwork, synthesis, readout), managing your own studies to consistent quality and deadlines with Design and Product as partners on intake and prioritization.
  • Build and test participant outreach channels; adjust when they stall; partner with clinic and ops to improve access.
  • Own the qualitative research toolkit the team reuses: starting light (guides, consent, recruitment paths, a simple repository) and growing it with the team.
  • Partner with designers so adhoc clinic shadowing becomes shared generative methods and insight the whole team can reuse.
  • Propose practical norms for AI in interview work (notes, synthesis, recruitment support) that protect privacy and do not fake rigor.
  • Partner with quantitative UX research so behavioral patterns from data get explained by generative work, and open questions become sharper hypotheses for measurement.

Understand patient goals and experience

  • Lead generative research on what patients are trying to achieve, how they decide, and what confuses or worries them across commitment, preparation, scan day, results, and return.
  • Design and moderate interviews, contextual work, and other discovery methods suited to sensitive health decisions.
  • Synthesize findings into artifacts product and design can act on: personas, opportunity areas, journey frames, decision maps, and prioritized insights.
  • Inform how we explain findings and risk to patients so people understand what matters without unnecessary fear.

Protect trust in high-stakes research

  • Plan and run research with sound judgment around privacy, consent, and emotional load in a healthcare context.
  • Design studies that respect HIPAA and, when relevant, IRB or other compliance realities, without treating regulation as a reason to skip hard questions.
  • Call out when a research ask would overreach, bias participants, or trade short-term answers for long-term trust.

Turn insight into decisions

  • Turn ambiguous product and experience questions into generative research questions and fit-for-purpose qualitative methods.
  • From interviews and synthesis, explain the goals, barriers, and mental models behind why people stall, disengage, or come back, and propose experience changes the team can try quickly.
  • Bring findings into roadmap and design conversations early enough to change direction, not only polish; communicate clearly across partners & stakeholders.
  • Document and socialize qualitative learning so interview insight compounds across teams instead of living in one-off decks.

What You'll Bring

  • 2+ years of hands-on qualitative or UX research in a product, service, or applied research setting.
  • End-to-end ownership of generative studies: planning, recruitment, moderation, synthesis, and storytelling.
  • Experience building or testing recruitment and outreach channels.
  • Evidence you have improved how a team does research (cadence, guides, recruitment, or a light repository) while working cross-functionally, not only executing assigned studies.

Nice to have

  • Patient, caregiver, or clinician research in HIPAA-aware settings; practical familiarity with IRB or similar review when research touches regulated processes.
  • Prior work on how people understand health goals or clinical results.

Our Values

First: we are Pioneers

  • Transforming healthcare requires divergent thinking, bias for action, disciplined experimentation, and consistent grit and determination to maintain momentum. This journey is as challenging as it is rewarding.

Second: we are Platform-Builders

  • We're always building foundations that allow us to achieve tomorrow more than we did today. We never lose sight of what's ahead – in a mindset of ownership and duty to our mission.

Above all: we are Patients

  • We could all be the next person who walks through our very doors, seeking clarity or peace of mind. We are proud of our impact on our patients' lives, and we won't stop till everyone can benefit from our work.

What We Offer

  • An avenue to make a positive impact on people's lives and their health
  • We believe in preventative healthcare for everyone, including our team - Prenuvo provides free, whole-body scans to each team member
  • Growth opportunities are at the heart of our people journey, we're doing big things with bright minds - there is no single path to success, it can be shaped along the way
  • Building strong relationships is at the core of everything we do - our team gets together each week to connect, share, and socialize
  • Recognizing time away to restore is vital to our wellbeing - we have a flexible vacation policy and we will encourage you to use it
  • Prenuvo offers a 401(k) retirement savings plan to eligible employees, allowing team members to make pre-tax contributions toward their retirement. While Prenuvo facilitates access to the plan, the company does not currently offer matching contributions.
  • We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, including Mental Health coverage, to support you and your family
  • The base salary for this role ranges from $110,000 - $125,000 USD depending upon experience and geographic location

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

As part of the hiring process, successful candidates will undergo a background check in compliance to applicable federal provincial and state rules.
