Job description

The Associate Technical Analyst serves as a key contributor within the WFE or ETS Support team, supporting the configuration, integration, and ongoing technical operations of the Workforce Edge, Sophia, and Salesforce platforms. In this role, you will collaborate with clients, education providers, and internal stakeholders to implement and maintain integrations, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure seamless system performance.
This is an early career position ideal for individuals looking to build a career in technical analysis and platform operations, offering hands-on experience with integration technologies, APIs, databases, and compliance frameworks. You will have the opportunity to grow your technical expertise while working alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional teams in a dynamic, client-focused environment.
This role operates with autonomy, exercising independent technical judgment to diagnose complex platform behavior, design integration solutions, and make consequential decisions about system architecture, security, and reliability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, evaluate, and document integration architectures across REST and file-based APIs, SSO and identity systems, and payment processing flows, translating business and partner requirements into technical specifications.
  • Partner with engineering teams across ETS to ensure they have the information needed to resolve technical issues
  • Conduct root-cause analysis of complex platform issues, tracing system behavior through logs, API traces, and database state to determine whether resolution requires configuration change, code change, or architectural revision.
  • Partner with business owners and product stakeholders to analyze new platform and integration requirements, surface ambiguities, and produce functional specifications that engineering teams can build from without further translation.
  • Serve as the technical authority during on-call rotations, evaluating incidents in real time, determining escalation paths, and designing remediations to restore service continuity.
  • Lead post-incident analysis, identifying systemic root causes and recommending architectural or process changes that prevent recurrence and improve platform reliability.
  • Advise other departments on platform capabilities, limitations, and the technical implications of proposed business decisions, representing engineering as a subject matter expert in cross-functional discussions.
  • Investigate and analyze platform data using SQL and API tooling to support technical decisions, identify trends, and validate system behavior against specification.

Job Skills:

  • Working proficiency in REST and file-based API design, with the ability to analyze, evaluate, and document integration architectures.
  • Working knowledge of SSO and identity management systems, including the ability to configure, troubleshoot, and specify security requirements for platform integrations.
  • Proficiency reading, writing, and analyzing JSON in the context of API design and platform engineering.
  • SQL proficiency sufficient for data analysis, system investigation, and technical reporting.
  • Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, with the ability to conduct technical investigation and root-cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with enterprise SaaS platform architecture and the ability to evaluate and optimize complex SaaS environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent technical assignments, exercising independent judgment in prioritization and effort allocation.
  • Effective technical communication across all levels of the organization, including the ability to advise senior stakeholders and resolve competing technical priorities.

Work Experience:

  • 2+ years in a technical analyst or similar role

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred

Travel will be more common for roles such as Account Executives (25 - 50%), senior leaders (10 - 20%) or Capella Core Faculty (5 - 10%).
  • Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor-to-floor using elevators or stairs.
  • If offsite or hybrid role, must have access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.
