Job Description: Our team works across the complete product lifecycle of our commercial aircraft, military aircraft, rotorcraft, space vehicles, UAVs, and advanced vehicle prototypes. We provide innovative support for our current and future products and services, act as global scouts for innovative technologies, and solve our customers' most difficult technology challenges.
We are seeking an Early Career Technical Analyst to join our team in St. Louis, Missouri. This team is comprised of world-class materials/manufacturing/machining engineers and laboratory technicians dedicated to researching & developing the next generation of advanced materials and processes.
This specific position will require operating CNC milling machines, Metal Additive Manufacturing machines, and supporting equipment for these machines. Also in this position, the candidate will support general design using CAD tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for Advanced Manufacturing and experience operating
CNC machines. This is a hands-on position working with M&P Engineers and other Technicians in a lab environment.
Job Responsibilities include:
Operation of advanced processing equipment including 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills, manual lathes and milling machines, and a waterjet cutting system. Working with Engineers to support material and process development efforts including assisting in engineering drawings using CAD tools as well as cutting tests and analysis. Performs tests and assists in analysis of materials, processes and equipment. Participates in test development, assists in routine analysis of failed parts and processes, generates data to aid in the evaluation of the failure mechanism and documents findings. Assists in developing and revising documents and technical requirements. Participates in the evaluation and qualification of materials, suppliers, equipment, technology and processes to ensure that conformance and productivity requirements are met. Supports continuous improvement of products and processes by participating in the design, fabrication and testing of new concepts and technology. Documentation and reporting of Customer part results and R&D activities. Troubleshooting and basic maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Works under general supervision.
Basic Qualifications
Associates Degree in Precision Machining Technology or a related discipline and a strong interest in Advanced Manufacturing processes.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience programming and operating CNC machining equipment.
Experience with modeling tools such as Siemens NX or equivalent design tools.
Experience with programming 3-Axis CNC milling equipment.
Education: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.).
