Position Summary
We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer like you to join our amazing team in Muscatine, Iowa. This position is onsite in Muscatine, Iowa and we are unable to offer sponsorship for this position.
You will provide engineering services and support commercial dealer systems operations through evaluation, analysis, design, supervision, upgrading and installation of equipment, controls, power distribution and process systems. The teammate is a source of knowledge and expertise on commercial dealer equipment. The teammate is also proficient in electrical risk prevention systems and the control systems on all commercial dealer equipment.Pay Range: $119,100.00 - $184,600.00Pay Range: $119,100.00 - $184,600.00
Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Principle Accountabilities & Duties

1. Engineering design, development, installation and support

  • Designs, develops, and installs new machine control and power systems for the global commercial dealer systems equipment.
  • Proposes new programs to keep equipment and processes technologically advanced and leading the industry in product quality, productivity, energy efficiency, environmental responsibility and safety.
  • Ensures standardization of control systems and components is maintained.
  • Evaluates existing processes and equipment and recommends modifications and refinements resulting in cost savings, quality and safety improvements.
  • Interfaces with the commercial dealer systems operation, manufacturing plants, tread and mold design group and corporate marketing during new equipment development feasibility studies.
  • Makes informed recommendations for additions and modifications to new and existing equipment required for manufacturing.

2. Project Management

  • Responsible for reaching agreement with customer on cost, schedule and functionality for each new project.
  • Plans, organizes and controls major projects.
  • Responsible for meeting project goals on cost, schedule and functionality.
  • Handles multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Coordinates the efforts of other engineers, technicians and contractors.
  • Responsible for coaching/mentoring other engineers and technicians.

3. Consulting and Communications

  • Relates plan of operations and establishes priorities for projects.
  • Visits the global commercial franchised dealers to study processes, consult with personnel and make recommendations.
  • Represents the company in contacts with outside suppliers of equipment, services and systems.
  • Serves as technical expert/resource to the Technical Support Group and Technical Support Representatives for the commercial dealer systems and provides field support.
  • Conveys information to dealers on equipment or process improvements in all areas.

4. Maintenance of Expertise

  • Develop and maintain reference documents, technical work instructions and forms in the QMS system.
  • Attends trade shows, technical seminars, and reads technical publications to keep abreast of the latest technology.
  • Provides training to other engineers.

5. Technology Development

  • Uses experience, knowledge, and creativity to implement ideas for technology development.

6. Decision Making and Responsibility

  • Management of dealer equipment projects to meet time and budget commitments.
  • Development and design of global dealer equipment control systems.
  • Makes recommendations to corporate management regarding appropriate goals for projects.
  • Once project goals are established, act independently with little assistance, to achieve those goals.
  • Collaboration within GES is required with the mechanical design engineering team, project engineering team and the process engineering team to make decisions regarding machine hardware and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaboration outside of GES is required with Marketing, Sales, Legal, IT, Finance, Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain and Production Control.

7. Work Environment and Occupational Demands

  • Teammate must be willing to travel domestically and internationally less than 15% to support the global dealer systems.
  • Teammate must be willing to work extended hours as needed to achieve company goals.
  • Teammate communicates with staff engineers, plant engineers, plant managers, directors and executive directors

This candidate must be willing to live in or near the Muscatine, IA area.

Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent work experience.
