POSITION SUMMARY


This is a currently available vacancy.


The Data Analyst is responsible for turning data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions. Reporting to the Director, Impact and Knowledge Management (IKM), the role contributes in planning and implementing leading edge data analysis and knowledge management services with a focus on the introduction of innovative data approaches. The Data Analyst will manage online data gathering platforms and create analytical reports.


Job Status: Six-month contract with the possibility of an extension

Start Date: September 2026

Location(s): Hybrid, 1 day in office, Waterloo, Ontario

Salary Range: CAD $58,050 - 72,550 annually + benefits.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


Knowledge Management (KM) - 35%

  • Implement MEDA's KM strategies, standards and guidelines by working closely with MEDA staff across multiple divisions and departments
  • Continuously update the KM manual in consultation with KM Functions Group
  • Ensure that data/information are readily available to all MEDA staff by developing guidelines on how to access information/data on MEDA's SharePoint
  • Regularly communicate with MEDA staff on any changes related to KM
  • Manage IKM SP site

Data Analysis and Visualization - 30%

  • Create user friendly visual dashboards and reports related to MEDA's strategic priorities and corporate requirements
  • Perform advanced statistical analyses using visual tools and widgets to strengthen MEDA's evidence base
  • Continuously update MEDA's strategic reports related to decent work, clients, project profile, MEDA Risk Capital Fund (MRCF), Executive Leadership Team report
  • Create and maintain PowerBI dashboards related to project results

Data Management - 15%

  • Support with the development of a centralized, integrated data system to optimize data flow and accuracy
  • Manage corporate level data and storage systems (e.g., MS Dynamics) by working closely with representatives from other divisions within MEDA
  • Manage data gathering platforms such as QPro, MS Forms, to ensure consistency across projects

Capacity Building - 10%

  • Build capacity of MEDA staff, especially IKM staff, on visualization platform such as PowerBI and MS Dynamics

Other Duties - 10%

  • Actively participate in departmental and corporate level meetings to suggest ideas related to KM and data analysis and visualization

Any other duties and/or requirements as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS


Education: Bachelor's degree in data analytics, business, or related field.

Experience: 7+ years' relevant experience

Technical Expertise:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and other business management systems.
  • Skilled in data visualization and reporting using Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Strong statistical analysis and data interpretation capabilities.
  • Experience managing and maintaining databases to support business operations and decision-making.
