Job description

Senior Business Analyst
Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Business Analyst to serve as a strategic partner to leadership within the Center of Excellence. This role goes beyond traditional business analysis: the ideal candidate will partner directly with leadership on priorities and special projects, represent leadership in meetings and decision-making forums, and lead and mentor junior analysts. Success in this role requires deep experience gathering and documenting complex requirements, sharp analytical judgment, and the credibility to influence both technical teams and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership & Leadership
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to leadership, helping set priorities, drive special projects, and represent leadership in meetings and cross-functional decision-making.
  • Lead, mentor, and review the work of junior and mid-level business analysts, setting documentation and process standards across the team.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership, translating between technical and strategic conversations.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and risk mitigation for key initiatives, escalating and resolving blockers proactively.

Core Business Analysis
  • Gather, analyze, and document complex business and technical requirements by working closely with stakeholders, developers, and testers.
  • Develop and maintain advanced technical documentation, including functional specifications, system design documents, process flows, and user guides.
  • Design, review, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios to validate system functionality and business requirements.
  • Conduct gap analysis, risk assessments, and impact analysis for major system enhancements and process changes.
  • Lead requirement-gathering sessions, stakeholder workshops, and sprint planning.
  • Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) end-to-end, including test plans, defect tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and adoption of best practices across the analyst function.
  • Provide training, coaching, and support to end users and junior staff on new system functionalities and enhancements.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, including experience mentoring or leading other analysts and a track record partnering directly with senior leadership or executives.
  • Proficiency in writing functional specifications, user stories, and system documentation.
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with testing tools and techniques, including manual and automated testing processes.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to executive audiences.
  • Strong proficiency in tools such as Jira, GitHub, Confluence, Miro, Visio, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SQL and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of API testing and integration testing.
  • Experience with RPA tools such as UiPath; exposure to Blue Prism a plus
  • Prior experience in title insurance, real estate, or financial services.
  • Certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis).
