Job Description:

This position will support system verification and test planning for the integration of ground and spacecraft subsystems, culminating in end-to-end testing at the Space Segment. Responsibilities include collaborating with a team of System Integration & Test (SI&T) engineers through the product life cycle, from initial requirement analysis for testability to designing and developing test plans and workflows.

The SI&T Specialist will work closely with internal program teams, including systems engineering, software engineering, mission, payload, quality, and operations. This role will support test efforts throughout the product life cycle, spanning from program inception and requirements analysis (including testability), to test architecture, integration, testing, and production support activities. The SI&T will define complex test strategies to verify mission ground capabilities while working with a team composed of multiple internal organizations and subcontractors for the full integration and testing of the system.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for supporting the development and/or execution of ground verification plans, test procedures, and documenting test results in reports to ensure requirements are met.
  • Provide support to the technical SI&T lead in the day-to-day during ground hardware and software integration and verification activities.
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track issues through to resolution.
  • Analyze test results, detect issues, and track root causes in collaboration with the development team.
  • Collaborate and consult with a cross-functional technical team (i.e., Systems Engineering, Project Engineering, Software Engineering) during the requirements analysis phase, including developing/updating the Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix (RVTM) for completeness.
  • Support the root cause, troubleshooting, and corrective action processes (as required).
  • Support all phases of the product life cycle (design, analysis, manufacturing, test, verification/validation, and delivery).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 - 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience with system integration and test (SI&T) ground communications.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience working on aerospace/defense systems (space payloads, spacecraft bus, ground systems, environmental testing).
  • Experience with secure environment handling (STIGs, IA controls).
  • Experience with hardware and software requirements testability, definition, block diagrams, interconnect diagrams, and software & hardware integration.
  • Experience using DOORS and/or MBSE software such as CAMEO and MagicDraw.
  • Experience with automation and scripting languages (e.g. Java, Python, SQL, Perl, Visual Studio code).
  • Experience with Jira/Bit Bucket/Confluence.
  • Experience using Source Control Tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a technical information environment.
  • Experience executing government or commercial, firm-fixed price development programs.
  • Experience in mentoring and growing technical staff.
  • Team-player, able to work in a large program and fast-paced environment.
