Job description

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a talented Systems Analyst I to join our Quick Response Team in Houston, Texas.
SummaryThe Systems Analyst I functions as a tech emergency responder, helping to minimize operational downtime and mitigate critical security or technical failures by rapidly troubleshooting, containing and resolving high severity IT outages and cyber threats.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Analyzes business functions in order to develop new or modified information processing systems.
  • Consults with business unit management and personnel to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, data scope, usage, formatting, and security requirements.
  • Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures.
  • Writes and maintains functional specifications for new or modified business systems.
  • Tracks and documents changes to functional and business specifications.
  • Creates or assists others in the writing of user documentation, instructions, and procedures.
  • Monitors and documents post-implementation problems and revision requests.
  • Maintains user security and integrity of system data.
  • Review logs to determine what causes issues and how to improve upon them
  • Understanding and implementation of setting changes and upgrades in the system's infrastructure

Requirements and QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Associate degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
