Position Description
The Leave of Absence and Accommodation Administrator supports Applied Medical by managing team member leave and accommodation processes while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a positive team member experience by providing guidance, managing cases, and ensuring accurate and timely administration of leave of absence and reasonable accommodation programs.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, i.e., benefits, payroll, and health services, the leave of absence and accommodation administrator ensures consistent application of company policies and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage leave of absence and accommodation cases from initiation through resolution while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Support team members by explaining company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to leave and accommodations.
  • Verify medical documentation and follow up as needed to ensure completeness and accuracy of records.
  • Ensure all leaves are properly designated under state and federal regulations, including applicable compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as benefits, payroll, and health services to support case management and process alignment.
  • Communicate timely updates, notifications, and correspondence to team members and leaders throughout the leave lifecycle.
  • Respond to team member inquiries in a timely, professional, and customer-focused manner.
  • Maintain documentation, forms, and administrative processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness.

Position Requirements

  • Holds an associate degree or demonstrates equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • Brings at least one year of experience supporting leave of absence and reasonable accommodation programs within a human resources or employee relations environment
  • Has two to three years of experience in a customer-facing or team member support role.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Demonstrates empathy and active listening skills when supporting team members.
  • Contributes as an enthusiastic team player while reinforcing company culture and values.
