Job description

Overview
Build the Future
At McGraw Hill, we are dedicated to delivering digital learning experiences that transform education for learners and educators. Our focus is on creating seamless, impactful products that truly benefit our users while supporting growth and collaboration across teams. We foster a culture that values innovation, teamwork, and a balance between career growth and personal well-being.
How can you make an impact?
The Associate Solutions Architect is an entry-level custom digital solutions role responsible for supporting custom product requests from scoping through production and delivery. This role helps coordinate digital mash-up projects that combine McGraw Hill content into custom ebook or courseware solutions, ensuring requirements, timelines, production needs, project data, and delivery expectations are clearly documented and managed. The Associate Solutions Architect works under the guidance of an assigned mentor, partners closely with internal Sales, Solutions, Production, Media Operations, and platform teams, and has limited customer interaction while developing the knowledge, judgment, and execution discipline needed to support custom digital solutions effectively.
This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.
What can you expect from the position?
  • Support Custom Digital Solution Scoping Through Delivery: Support assigned custom digital projects from intake and scoping through production and delivery, coordinating requirements, schedules, production details, internal handoffs, quality expectations, and delivery milestones. Work with guidance from an assigned mentor and manager to ensure project information is accurate, timelines are understood, and work progresses in alignment with approved requirements.
  • Coordinate Digital Mash-Up Production: Coordinate production activities for digital mash-ups that combine McGraw Hill content into custom ebook or courseware solutions. Confirm source content, customization needs, asset readiness, platform considerations, accessibility expectations, and delivery dependencies with internal partners. Escalate unclear requirements, production constraints, or higher-complexity needs to the assigned mentor, manager, or appropriate Solutions team member.
  • Maintain Accurate Project Setup and Documentation: Set up and maintain assigned projects in designated systems, ensuring project, finance, scope, timeline, and delivery information is accurate and current. Document decisions, requirements, status updates, risks, and next steps in a clear and consistent manner that supports internal visibility and reliable execution across the custom digital workflow.
  • Coordinate Internal Communication and Limited Customer Interaction: Communicate project status, timelines, dependencies, and remaining steps to internal stakeholders, including Sales, Solutions Services, Production, Media Operations, and platform partners. Participate in limited customer communication only when appropriate and with guidance, focusing primarily on internal coordination, requirement clarification, and timely escalation of questions or risks.
  • Learn and Apply Custom Solutions Processes: Develop working knowledge of McGraw Hill custom digital workflows, production standards, platform capabilities, accessibility considerations, documentation expectations, and internal tools. Apply approved processes and standard operating procedures consistently while seeking guidance from the assigned mentor when project needs fall outside established patterns or entry-level decision authority.
  • Support Operational Consistency and Team Execution: Support Solutions team members by completing assigned tasks, maintaining reliable follow-through, identifying documentation gaps or workflow friction, and contributing to consistent execution of custom digital projects. Partner collaboratively with internal stakeholders to help ensure products are delivered accurately, on time, and with clear visibility into status and next steps.

We're looking for someone with:
  • Foundational understanding of digital content production, custom product workflows, project coordination, or educational technology, with ability to learn McGraw Hill custom digital processes and tools.
  • Ability to support custom digital projects from scoping through production and delivery by coordinating requirements, timelines, internal handoffs, status updates, and delivery details.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-through, prioritization, and ability to manage assigned work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with an assigned mentor, accept guidance, ask timely questions, apply feedback, and escalate risks, unclear requirements, or higher-complexity project needs appropriately.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide concise internal status updates, document project decisions, clarify requirements, and communicate professionally with limited customer interaction when needed.
  • Ability to partner with Sales, Solutions, Production, Media Operations, platform teams, and other internal stakeholders to support accurate setup, production readiness, issue resolution, and on-time delivery.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to build expertise in McGraw Hill systems, tools, content standards, accessibility expectations, and custom digital solution workflows.

Preferred:
  • Experience with McGraw Hill custom content workflows, Smartsheet, Jira, HTML, AWS Cloud, accessibility standards, ebook or courseware production, customer support, or digital content delivery tools.
