Software QA Tester
Employment Type: Onsite
Annexa is currently working with DC Government's Office of the Chief Technology Officer and is seeking a Software QA Tester to test the Department of Motor Vehicles enterprise application. The QA Tester will test the DC Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) application to meet the project objectives and support new or expanding business objectives. This will include requirements review/analysis, creating test cases, test case execution, and creating defects for the new or updated software applications. Candidate must have technical proficiency for testing Software Applicationsalong with proficiency in Jira. Candidates should be able to participate in the entire development lifecycle from design through deployment. Ability to perform requirements review, write test cases, automate test cases, execute test cases, and create defects is essential. Be able to communicate with the Project Team fordefects/issues identified during testing. The QA Tester will work in an Agile Team environment to perform software application testing to verify and validate that the application requirements are covered and to improve our internal and client-facing environment. The QA Tester will be working in a supportive and fast-paced team with the development team and have opportunities to increase their professional knowledge.

Responsibilities:
  • Performing Software Application Testing of customized solutions within the software platform to support critical business functions and meet the project objectives, client use requirements, and company goals
  • Write automated test scripts based on the User Stories and develop a methodology
  • Communication with project management, clients, and other developers to ensure effective collaboration throughout the testing phase as a team player
  • Knowledge of the database and understanding of schemas to validate the test results
  • Knowledge in API testing and understanding the wireframes in Figma/XD.
  • Maintaining a flexible and proactive work environment to facilitate a quick response to changing project requirements and customer objectives and innovate ways to meet mission goals successfully.
  • Direct interaction with clients, managers, and end users is necessary to analyze project objectives and capability requirements, including specifications for user interfaces, customized applications, and interactions with internal and external instances.
  • Collaboration with various internal departments, including development and operations, to ensure new DMV applications support internal needs relating to functionality and performance.
  • Develop test strategies, plans, and test cases (functional, automation, integration, regression).
  • Execute manual and automated tests, track defects, ensure resolution with proper documentation.
  • Automate test cases using test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, ACCELQ, etc.).
  • Collaborate with developers and business analysts to refine requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Perform cross-browser usability testing.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback.
  • Document test results and maintain test artifacts.
  • Use defect tracking tools JIRA) and manage the defect lifecycle.
  • Ensure and follow all DC Government security standards.

Required Skills:
  • 6+ years of extensive experience with Microfocus Test Tools ALM.
  • 6+ years of Experience with Jira.
  • 10+ years of experience in Testing Reports.
  • 10+ years of experience with good SQL skills to write SQLs to fetch data from PS tables, for validating table data and testing.
  • 10+ years of experience communicating with project management, clients, and other developers to ensure effective collaboration throughout the testing phase.
  • Candidates should be able to participate in the entire development lifecycle from design through deployment.
  • 8+ years of experience with the ability to perform requirements review, write test cases, execute test cases, and create defects.
  • 6+ years of experience adapting functional business requirements/processes to technical solutions based upon enterprise application solution sets.
  • 6+ years of experience with one or more of the following: investment analysis, data warehousing, e-commerce, ROI analysis, HR analysis, info dissemination.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Must worked with version control.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail.
  • Candidate must qualify for a STaR2 Journeyman Labor Category.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.

Desired Skills:
  • 6+ years of experience with ERP management processes such as knowledge management, supply chain management, material management, logistics, and procurement.
