Job Description

Cricut is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software QA Engineer to help deliver high-quality experiences across Web, Mobile, Desktop, API, Hardware, and AI-powered products. This role is responsible for validating software functionality, system integrations, connected device experiences, and generative AI features to ensure exceptional customer experiences.

You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Data Science, and Program teams to identify risks early, validate customer workflows, and ensure high-quality releases across multiple platforms.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical testing skills, excellent communication, customer empathy, and a passion for quality throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

Core QA Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Validate user stories, features, APIs, integrations, and end-to-end workflows.
  • Perform functional, regression, exploratory, integration, and system testing.
  • Analyze application logs, API traffic, and backend systems to troubleshoot issues.
  • Participate in sprint planning, grooming, reviews, and release readiness activities.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and verify defects through resolution.
  • Represent QA concerns and quality risks in cross-functional meetings.
  • Provide actionable customer-centric feedback to improve product experiences.

Connected Device & Hardware Testing

  • Validate software interactions with connected devices and hardware products.
  • Test onboarding, connectivity, firmware updates, ownership management, and user workflows.
  • Verify system behavior across various network and environmental conditions.
  • Participate in qualification efforts for new consumer electronics products.

Knockout Criteria

  • 3-5 years of Software QA experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Must be living in or willing to relocate to Salt Lake City, Utah.
  • Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals and SDLC.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience testing web, mobile, desktop, and API-based applications.
  • Strong expertise in test planning, test case development, and execution.
  • Experience validating REST APIs and web services.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting client-server communications.
  • Experience using browser debugging tools and log analysis techniques.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing strategies, and best practices.
  • Experience participating in Agile software development processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

AI-Specific Qualifications

  • Experience testing AI, machine learning, recommendation, search, or generative AI features.
  • Understanding of prompt engineering concepts and AI validation techniques.
  • Experience evaluating AI-generated output quality and consistency.
  • Familiarity with testing conversational interfaces, copilots, or AI-assisted workflows.
  • Ability to identify AI quality risks including hallucinations, bias, reliability, and safety issues.
  • Experience using data-driven approaches to measure AI product quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing software integrated with hardware devices.
  • Background in testing and qualifying consumer electronics products.
