Who We Are
Robert Half is seeking a Senior Software Engineer III - ATI to join our team supporting the underlying infrastructure, platforms, and services that power our applications and ELT/ETL processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in infrastructure automation, cloud technologies (AWS/Azure), monitoring, CI/CD deployment frameworks, and platform reliability. Hands-on experience with programming and scripting languages such as Python, Spark, Jupyter Notebooks, Java, SQL, and Shell scripting is essential. The role focuses on building and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure platform components that enable the development teams to deliver features efficiently. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing system improvements, managing infrastructure as code and optimizing CI/CD workflows using DevOps tools, supporting platform services in production environments, collaborating across teams to define the requirements and/or drive improvements and participating in all phases of development life cycles, including documentation and procedures updates.


What You'll Do

  • Designs and develop large-scale, complex platform components that support core infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native services. Fully owns the development of low to medium-complexity platform systems end-to-end.

  • Capable of implementing and maintaining components across the entire platform stack, including infrastructure-as-code (IaC), middleware, service orchestration, and monitoring tools.

  • Conducts peer code reviews for junior and mid-level platform engineers (Level I and II), ensuring alignment with engineering standards and best practices.

  • Holds approval authority over deliverables produced by Level I and II platform staff.

  • Demonstrates strong skills in reverse engineering and refactoring existing platform code or automation to improve scalability, maintainability, and performance.

  • Delivers robust, testable modules using Test-Driven Development methodologies.

  • Applies platform design patterns and principles for reusable and extensible components.

  • Leads the design of infrastructure modules, CI/CD integrations, and system automation, particularly with a focus on high availability and fault tolerance.

  • Produces and maintains detailed technical design documents for platform services.

  • Performs design reviews for junior platform engineers, offering guidance on scalability, reliability, and operational concerns.

  • Plans and executes unit testing for all platform modules developed and reviews test coverage and results of junior staff.

  • Defines and documents integration testing strategies across platform services and environments.

  • Highly skilled in debugging and resolving infrastructure and platform-level issues, including deployment failures, environmental drift, and automation bugs.

  • Leads the analysis and resolution of moderate to complex issues in production platforms, defining incident response approaches and resolution playbooks.

  • Provides Level III support critical production issues, collaborating across development, application, and security teams.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned in support of the platform team's goals and cross-functional collaboration.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years of professional experience in software analysis, development, engineering, and support within large corporate environments, including over 2 years mentoring and leading junior software engineers.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with programming and scripting languages such as Python, Spark, Java, SQL, and Shell Scripting.

  • 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, including building, deploying, and maintaining cloud resources. Familiar with cloud computing services and best practices.

  • Solid understanding and practical experience with Agile methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Experience designing and working with n-tier architecture systems.

  • Proficient in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git for version control, and utilizing various DevOps tools to streamline development and deployment processes.

  • Experience in monitoring applications and implementing alerting mechanisms for reliability and performance.

  • Familiar with data engineering workflows and tools such as Glue, Spark, Python, Jupyter Notebook, and AWS Lambda.

  • Working knowledge of JIRA and ServiceNow.

  • Strong experience with relational databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.

  • Comfortable working in Linux and Windows environments.

  • Experience in application administration and configuration.

  • Experience working with SaaS-based applications.

  • Proficient in creating clear, concise documentation and process specifications.

The typical annual salary range for this position is shown below and is negotiable depending upon experience and location. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.

$104,000.00 - $153,000.00
