Job description

Distributed Common Ground System-Navy (DCGS-N) personnel will be responsible for performing a full range of system integration and automation script development in support of DCGS-N systems. Duties will also include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing automation scripts for installing applications, streamlining timelines for establishing system configurations, and executing tests on Windows and Linux servers and workstations
  • Working closely with program industry partners providing systems integration support to the sustainment and updating of various DCGS-N systems and applications, including responding to technical and programmatic data calls related to system installation, troubleshooting with operational sites via remote support when able
  • Working with industry partners developing and updating installation guides, administrator and user manuals
  • Performing system engineering duties including hardware and software installation and configuration
  • Supporting installation and testing execution for DCGS-N lab integration and site installations including additional local team tasking, both remotely and onsite, including CONUS and OCONUS ship and shore commands
  • Performing cybersecurity software installation and initial testing in support of various DCGS-N updates and acceptance testing of system security patches
  • Participating in staff meetings, AGILE team meetings, and technical exchange meetings including discussions about system baseline configurations with program architect leadership

  • Four years of technical experience in support of design, testing, deployment, and operations of DCGS-N or other C4ISR programs
  • Individual shall have or be able to attain Information Assurance Technical (IAT) II certification within 30 Days of assignment
  • Certified CompTIA Security+ or higher or the ability to attain within six months of hire
  • Experience with full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment using Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Proficient with utilizing DevOps tools for build, deploy, and patch automation (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, BMC, or Similar)
  • Understanding of U.S. Navy intelligence operations
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Department of the Navy intelligence disciplines including SIGINT and IMINT
  • Have an active Top-Secret clearance with eligibility to attain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to clearly document system procedures and system assessment findings with recommendations
  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow software engineering practices

  • Former U.S. Navy IT, IS, CTT or other service equivalent
  • 10 or more years with experience with research, design, testing, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area
  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, information technology, or information systems)
  • Experience with full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment using Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and notable experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. AGILE, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Possess Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification
  • Extensive experience with Distributed Common Ground System – Navy (DCGS-N) operations, applications testing and reporting
  • Experience with Intelligence applications like GCCS, GALE, SOCET-GXP, FADE, LRF, Cedalion
  • Experience with Grafana, GitLab, GitHub, Prometheus, Trivy, and vSphere
  • Three or more years of professional experience with research, design, testing, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area
  • Experience working on Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Experience developing network applications
  • Ability to work with customers and other engineers in a team environment to develop designs for prototypes
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Familiarity with Software Engineering Life Cycle Models
