Job Overview

LPL Financial is seeking a VP, Principal Engineer / Tech Lead to design and deliver modern, cloudbased data and application capabilities that transform enterprise compensation processing. In this role, you will provide handson technical leadership across data pipelines, eventdriven workflows, and cloud architecture-ensuring scalability, resiliency, transparency, and automation.

You will partner closely with architects, product teams, compensation subjectmatter experts, and engineering teams to modernize endtoend compensation systems using AWSnative services and Pythondriven data pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement endtoend cloud data pipelines supporting compensation ingestion, calculation, validation, and downstream distribution

  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT workflows using Python, AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and S3

  • Architect and develop eventdriven workflows leveraging AWS EventBridge, SQS, and SNS

  • Implement data quality, reconciliation, auditing, and monitoring capabilities to ensure accuracy and integrity of compensation data

  • Partner with architects and product teams to modernize legacy compensation platforms into scalable, cloudnative solutions

  • Work with relational databases (RDS/Postgres/SQL Server) for data modeling, transformation, and performance optimization

  • Apply CI/CD and DevOps best practices to automate build, test, and deployment processes

  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive rootcause resolution under tight timelines

  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders, compensation SMEs, and crossfunctional partners

  • Identify opportunities to improve transparency, scalability, and automation across compensation workflows

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience designing and delivering complex enterprise systems
  • 7+ years of handson data engineering experience using Python and SQL
  • Strong experience with AWS services including Glue, Lambda, EventBridge, RDS, and S3
  • Proven ability to design scalable, eventdriven and cloudnative architectures
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and modern software engineering standards

Pay Range:

$175,924.00 - $293,138.00
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
