Join a team at the center of a technology transformation within Equipment Finance, where you'll help modernize the applications, APIs, and data solutions that power critical business capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to work across both application development and data-focused initiatives, contributing to the evolution of the platform ecosystem while expanding your expertise in modern software engineering, data movement, and enterprise technologies. Primary Responsibilities

  • Work within the boundaries of the approved Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to solve business needs and minimize risks to the Bank through clean and resilient code with guidance as needed.
  • Design, develop, test, and support applications, APIs, and data solutions that enable business capabilities and operational efficiency.
  • Provide feedback in pull requests to other team members.
  • Participate in code reviews by presenting code and providing constructive feedback on code quality, maintainability, and performance.
  • Write organized, clean, efficient, and secure source code in one or more programming languages.
  • Utilize source control management tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps to organize, maintain, and deploy code.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of data models, data acquisition processes, and data movement solutions.
  • Jointly analyze technical and business requirements for completeness, accuracy, and feasibility with senior team members to ensure accurate scoping of work.
  • Collaborate across development, data, and business teams to document and communicate technical implementation details clearly and concisely.
  • Support testing, troubleshooting, and resolution of application and data-related issues.
  • Continuously learn and apply emerging technologies, tools, and engineering best practices.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports a culture of belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Education and Experience Required

  • Associate's degree and a minimum of 3 years’ systems analysis and/ or application development work experience OR Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1 year systems analysis and/or application development work experience. In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 5 years’ education and/or relevant work experience, including a minimum of 1 year of systems analysis and/or application development work experience
  • Professional proficiency in a minimum of one relevant programming language
  • Experience developing and supporting web-based applications and services
  • Experience with .NET technologies and SQL development
  • Experience building, consuming, or supporting APIs
  • Experience with data modeling, database design, data acquisition, and data movement solutions
  • Experience using source control and code management tools such as GitHub and/or Azure DevOps
  • Understanding of software development best practices including code reviews, version control, and unit testing
  • Ability to analyze technical and business requirements and translate them into effective solutions
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Education and Experience Preferred
