Job description

General Purpose:
Responsible for making civil/structural deliverables for engineering and construction projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate 3D civil and structural arrangements, layouts, and drawings.
  • Complete drawings ranging from conceptual through fabrication quality.
  • Develop structural material take-offs.
  • Interpretation and utilization of point clouds to create 3D designs.
  • Engage the field engineering team in design process and layout.
  • Design software and field engineering instrumentation integration.
  • Support creation of Work Packages, As-Builts, and Turnover Documents
  • Understand and effectively communicate design principles and standards.
  • Closely adhere to and maintain the project design specifications.
  • Review and check team members deliverables.
  • Performance of multiple projects on a continuous basis.
  • Perform field work as needed to complete design work.
  • Effectively communicate and project the principles of the Talent Advantaged Roadmap.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.


Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree from a Technical Institution.
  • 2 years minimum of civil/structural design experience.
  • Working knowledge of SDS and/or AutoDesk software, including Plant3D and Advance Steel.
  • Experience working with point clouds preferred.
  • Display a good working knowledge of industry standard design practices, good mechanical aptitude, and general knowledge of engineering.
  • Ability to follow design code standards and specifications (ASME, ASCE, etc....).
  • Ability to organize, allocate, prioritize, review, complete and present deliverables.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with all levels in the company.
  • Ability to attain and promote good customer relationships (both internal and external).
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word with intermediate skills in Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to perform field/site visits as needed.
