CRI designs, develops, and deploys digital experiences that engage customers, shoppers, guests, fans, and employees across physical spaces — spanning Retail, Convenience, Entertainment & Theme Parks, Healthcare, QSR, Stadiums & Arenas, and Dealer Showroom verticals. The company delivers these experiences for enterprise-scale networks through its proprietary CMS platforms, including Clarity, ReflectView, and iShowroom. Creative Realities is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky.

Position Summary

The Software Application Developer works closely with the Menu Solution Development Team and Creative Team, pairing strong visual design with hands-on front-end development to turn client briefs into polished, screen-ready experiences. The role carries a project from concept through production interpreting requirements, conceptualizing visuals, building digital menu templates, and validating the final output for deployment.

Working closely with the Creative and Content Deployment and Menu Solution Development teams, the Specialist documents how solutions are built inside our proprietary CMS platforms, and serves as a mentor and technical resource, raising the quality and consistency of the team’s output.

This is a contractor position with an initial term of 6-12 months, with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Concept

  • Review design briefs and project requirements to define scope, deliverables, and creative direction.
  • Conceptualize visual solutions grounded in client requirements and CRI and client brand guidelines.
  • Design illustrations, layouts, and storyboard concepts across digital signage, interactive, and out-of-home formats.

Front-End Development & Production

  • Build and maintain content templates using browser based technologies including HTML and CSS, translating design and functional intent into working builds.
  • Develop Dynamic Content applications using JavaScript together with HTML/CSS to bring engaging, on-screen experiences to life.
  • Apply working knowledge of video editing, animation, and rendering to produce motion content for screen delivery.

Documentation, QA & Team Enablement

  • Provide development and QA support, validating content and template builds for accuracy and correct functionality before deployment.
  • Create and maintain internal documentation for our proprietary CMS platforms, keeping processes current as the platforms evolve.
  • Provide mentorship and hands-on guidance, supporting the Creative and Content Deployment teams across active projects.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of combined experience in visual design and front-end development, or an equivalent portfolio of work.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud - Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro).
  • Hands-on proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Working knowledge of video editing, animation, and rendering workflows.
  • Strong command of layout, typography, color, and visual hierarchy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with strong attention to detail.
  • Set up to operate as an independent contractor (sole proprietor, LLC, or other business entity) and able to provide a W-9.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience producing content for digital signage or an enterprise content management system.
  • Experience deploying or supporting content across enterprise, multi-site networks.
  • Experience using AI assistance tools for creative and software content generation, manipulation, and validation.
  • Familiarity with QA and content validation practices.
  • Prior mentorship or technical-lead experience.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
