Job Summary:

The Mid-Level Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and refining security measures to safeguard the company's infrastructure and enhance compliance while enabling business agility.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts using tools like Splunk, CrowdStrike, or Sentinel.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, then partner with engineering teams to remediate findings.
• Implement and maintain security controls across cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices for the organization.
• Participate in incident response, including root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
• Collaborate with DevOps to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Snyk, Checkmarx).
• Stay ahead of emerging threats by researching new attack vectors and recommending countermeasures.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, or a related role.
• Experience participating in incident response, including root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
• Proven ability to balance security needs with business priorities through a problem-solving mindset.
• Strong knowledge of network security, identity and access management, and endpoint protection.
• Experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel), intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability scanning tools.
• Hands-on experience with cloud security across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
• Familiarity with integrating security tooling into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Snyk, Checkmarx).
• Excellent communication skills—able to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST).
Preferred:
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP (Associate), AWS/Azure/GCP Security specialty, or equivalent are a plus.
