Title:

Combat Systems Training Facilitator / Technical Analyst

KBR's Mission Engineering Division delivers complex technical solutions and expert support to the U.S. Department of War, specializing in modeling and simulation, cyber transformation, air vehicle mission integration, and lifecycle support. We are seeking a Combat Systems Training Facilitator / Technical Analyst to join our team in Newport, RI, to support the delivery of maritime warfighting and C5I training for Navy Officers preparing to serve as Department Heads at sea. This role leverages your fleet experience to execute both classroom and simulation-based training, including hands-on operation of advanced Navy training systems such as the Multi-Mission Tactical Trainer and LCS Combat System Part Task Trainer. You will work closely with active-duty personnel and civilian staff to ensure that training events and tactical scenarios run smoothly, and trainer systems maintain high operational availability. This position also drives continuous improvement through system feedback, tech grooms, testing, and curriculum support. Ideal candidates bring strong underway experience in Combat Information Center (CIC) operations or Combat Systems maintenance, alongside a drive to train and mentor the next generation of naval warfighters.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Deliver and support the Maritime Warfighting curriculum, to include operational support in the Multi-Mission Tactical Trainer, preparing Officers for afloat roles leading tactical teams in CIC.
  • Operate, align, and maintain the LCS Combat System Part Task Trainer to ensure a high-fidelity tactical training experience.
  • Assist in developing and managing training system programs to enhance instructional effectiveness and tactical realism.
  • Assist in new technology testing and technical reviews to evaluate their applicability for specific courses of instruction and system grooms.
  • Troubleshoot system faults, write training system deficiency reports, and recommend solutions to improve training system hardware and software readiness.
  • Operate a wide range of computer-based training and simulation consoles to develop officers' skills, knowledge, and tactical abilities.
  • Coordinate, write, and conduct tactical situational briefs (pre-watch and debriefs) for student training events.
  • Support Combat Systems light-off and shutdown procedures, as well as scenario development and operation for training system requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance required. Must be a US Citizen.
  • Associate's degree & 3+ years of experience OR High School Diploma & 7 years of experience
  • Must have at-sea experience in a relevant Combat Systems, C5I, or CIC watchstanding role (e.g., Combat Systems Coordinator (CSC), CSRO, CIC Watch Supervisor, Warfare Coordinator, Fire Controlman, TAO, or OOD)
  • Prior experience briefing or instructing individuals or groups in an operational, shipboard, or training environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior military experience in a Combat Systems technical/tactical rate (e.g., FC, FCA, ET, STG, IC, GM, or OS) supporting Navy surface warfare operations
  • Experience with Navy training systems, tactical trainers, or shore-based simulators
  • Hands-on familiarity with LCS combat systems (Freedom or Independence variants, COMBATSS-21) and training environments
  • Ability to quickly learn, operate, and troubleshoot new simulation technologies and C5I tools
  • Strong drive to train, mentor, and develop tactical proficiency in naval officers
