Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Research Associate / Associate Scientist to join our Translational Biology team, supporting our autoimmunity programs from early discovery through IND-enabling studies. In this role, the individual will play a key role in designing, executing, and analyzing in vitro and ex vivo assays to support therapeutic development. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced biotech environment and brings strong technical expertise in immunology and assay development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow established protocols and routinely implement a variety of cell-based assays to characterize response of immune cells to novel biologics in vitro.
  • Independently design and implement new experiments/methodologies, as needed. 
  • Maintain cell line cultures and contribute to the overall maintenance of laboratory, including tissue culture lab space.
  • Independently review technical literature and contribute to developing projects via ideation.
  • Analyze experiments with high scientific rigor and troubleshoot assay performance as needed.
  • Drive projects by interpreting experimental data and planning next steps.
  • Keep detailed, accurate, and up-to-date records of all experimental procedures and results. 
  • Participate in project teams and communicate results at internal and/or external meetings and contribute technical information for group presentations. 
  • Collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, with accountability for transparent communication and on-time deliverables. Design, execute, and interpret vitro assays to advance lead drug candidates.
  • Support ex vivo pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic studies.
  • Support screening efforts for novel discovery programs.
Qualifications & Skills

We’re looking for candidates who are curious, proactive, and collaborative, with a strong scientific foundation and hands-on technical expertise. Key qualifications include:

  • Hands-on experience with tissue culture, ex vivo tissue processing and proficiency in executing cell-based assays including but not limited to reporter assays, cytotoxicity assays, immune cell-based assays are a must. 
  • Proven expertise in laboratory techniques including flow cytometry, cytokine analysis, ELISA, MSD is desired.
  • Experience with early drug discovery workflows, specifically with screening of biologics is highly preferred.
  • Experience in molecular biology techniques and cell engineering (e.g., viral transduction, CRISPR, reporter line generation) is a plus.
  • Ability to handle timeline pressures, and grasp project priorities to submit deliverables within designated timelines is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, oral and written communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Motivated and proactive self-starter with a positive attitude, who can quickly learn new skills
  • Must work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, highly cross-functional team environment with colleagues from diverse disciplines.
  • Prior experience in autoimmune disease models is highly desirable
Education & Experience
  • B.S./M.S.  degree in Biological Sciences, Immunology or related field with Industry experience
  • Senior Research Associate: 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Associate Scientist: 5+ years of relevant industry experience

The expected base pay range for this position is $90,000 - $128,000 annually and will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, skills and competencies. The pay range reflects multiple levels within the Scientist job family. The final title and compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.

This role is also eligible for annual performance bonuses, equity grants, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, paid time off, and other employee programs.
